God had to make animals dumber than reptiles to believe in Jesus

2007-02-05 07:52:12 · 14 answers · asked by Sean 5

Matthew 17:20
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

ok so how come we never see anything happen that cant occur naturally? for the record, birth is natural its not a miracle. its nice u pray that your broken bone will mend or that you will get over the common cold. sadly prayer doesnt help with that.

so is it that people lack faith today? or is it simply that prayer does not work and this is false?

(for those that say "out of context" please put it in context and explain it, or dont bother.)

Not only did Jesus trash a church yard and tell people off at least 3 people ("be it for you as you have done") but he also said:

Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
— Matthew 18.6, Mark 9.42 and Luke 17.2

Children will rise against parents and have them put to death.
— Matthew 10.21-22 & Mark 13.12-13.

Can you really say he forgave everyone?

that they should have an altar call or prayer of forgiveness prior to serving? I think we should;the scriptures say that if we eat the communion without confessing our sins it`s dangerous and may cause illness or even death.

Was pond of fire not scary enough? Was Ocean of fire too much?
What about a pit of knives and maggots, filled with camel urine? Was that also too much?

I am agnostic, but I am wondering for Christians who believe in the soul and all it entails, if you truly believe in soul-mates. Do you think that our souls are "spiritually" linked to one other person by God's design? Can we have more than one soul-mate? Just want opinions. Thanks.

"Louis Pasteur's theory of germs is ridiculous fiction." (Pierre Pachet, Professor of Physiology at Toulouse)

This quote agrees with the "mud to man" theory taught by many today.

Question for unbelievers: In light of your world-view, is this quote correct?
Question for believers: Is it mandatory to believe everything that purports to be "science" (such as the quote above), or should you utilize the cognitive abilities God created you with?

if god only answers according to His will?? if he already has your path set in this world, why pray to him to change/answer it?? doesn't your perfect god already know how you feel/think anyway, so why just trust him??

see, what's the point of praying then??

btw, you have the same success rate praying to a cucumber as if you prayed to a 'god'...but at least the cucumber isn't imaginary.

While I know saints are NOT worshipped, why is it that there are patron saints for specific people or places? What makes that saint particularly efficacious in that circumstances? Shouldn't all saints be equal, as they are all in Heaven with God, and thus all have an equal influence with Him?

I am a Christian Theist (but obviously non-traditional from the standpoint of many Christian answerers here.

A basic tenant of my faith states:

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where or what they may."

Is this teaching offencive to anyone? Why?

My only clarification is that I already know it is offencive to some "Christian" sects, I don't really understand why, as it is consistant with the teaching of Christ but I understand it still the same. I am looking for any others whom it is offencive to and their rational.

I believe all should respected in their belief in so far as they act according to that which they profess (that includes Atheism, although I understand it is not a belief based concept).

Christian by Maya Angelou

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow.
