You're being unfair. He gave them Braille and ASL, too, you know.

I don't think true happiness is based around what we can physically do. I don't see why being blind, deaf or mute is an actual 'bad' thing. If I was the only person ever to exist and I was blind and had always been so, I wouldn't care nor would I wish to be any different. It's only because we compare ourselves to others and make decisions about what is good and bad that we think it's 'unfair' to not be able to do what other people can do. If you believe in God, then you have to believe that God knows exactly what he is doing and there's really no reason to question it.

If I were to create a human being in the sense that some people believe God created humans, I wouldn't think of it was taking AWAY an ability. I would add things that are useful and 'know' that maybe some people do not need to have sight or hearing. I would be 'all knowing' and I would do certain things for a reason. It would be very useful if we had wheels instead of feet. I don't think of how 'God' took that 'ability' away from every person on the planet.

Absolutely. Some of the greatest tools God has are deaf and mute and blind. Those of us who can hear and talk and see are truly deaf and blind and mute in a different sense. We are so spoiled to the things of the world that God gave us we don't take time to KNOW God. We use our mouth to blaspheme Him and use our ears to ignore him instead of listen, and our eyes to look at filth. Some of the closest people to God I know are deaf or mute or blind. And they are reaching people for God like you wouldn't believe. They have a ministry like you and I can't have.
So yes, the Lord knows eactly what He is doing every second of every day and has created some very special gems in His children who are not like us in those ways. But the lack of sight is not what matters in the end, and those folks have just as much heart as the next, and sometimes more!!

God created nature and the natural world in all its beautiful complexity. Science has given us some insight into this marvelous system, a system that people 2000 years ago didn't know about. The authors of the bible didn't understand genetics or any of the other biological sciences; in their minds, God must have been the direct author of all.

We've been given knowledge that wasn't available back then, and with it comes a different view. God isn't some sort of celestial doctor who puts people together gene by gene. God created nature and all its processes and that includes those that sometimes result in a person being born blind or deaf. It doesn't mean God loves those people any less.

Welcome to part of free will - God isn't entirely "hands off," but God doesn't muck around with stuff on a whim. Imagine the slippery slope if God kept thwarting His own creation.

God created Adam and Eve perfectly .... everyone else was formed in their mother's womb. Get the difference?

God set into motion the flow of nature and man's biological functions to work perfectly. We are the ones who mess it up again and again .... through bad diet, bad living etc.

If you were to examine every child born deaf you would find a biological reason that is due to some deformity caused by the mother. Intentionally? Noooo, of course not, what parent would deliberately cause a deformity in their child?

My husband is almost deaf in one ear and completely deaf in the other. One side was caused by being boxed on the ears as a child, the other through an infection as an adult. Why would he blame God for that?

The greatness of a culture can be determined by how the most vulnerable are treated.

How are we to understand the ways and works of God.

Rom 11:33-34
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counseller?

Judging from many of the questions, and especially the answers here, I consider deaf and mute a kindness. Blindness might be better for many here.

The latter is the case, and asking why questions re: the divine will of God is useless efforts. They don't ever get answered. By the by, there is a true story about Helen's path to faith. It seems that after she was taught to sign, and therefore to communicate, someone shared the good news of the gospel of Christ with her and her response was, "I already knew Him; I just didn't know His name." It kind of shoots down the thinking of many that creation itself does not testify of God's wonder and power.....therefore, they are without excuse. Helen Keller looked at the design and could see the Designer.

The Lord sustains all life. The potter forms the clay. One day, it will reflect the glory through a metamorphosis into a perfect body.

So, you could do better than God?

I wouldn't take either from my created child . I wear glasses and see clear about 6 inches in front of me. I hate it. My family wears them also. I beleive that my eyes are bad because confession from my family or a curse. That 's how I believe it works and feel that God feels the same. God made us prefect. We screw it up.
GOD BLESS

God , being infinitely wise, creates us a certain way. Suffering draws us apart from the world and brings us closer to God. Or we can choose to become bitter and not accept God's plan for our lives.
