i ask, "what do you think of this?"

and instead of telling me what you think, u tell me im "picking and choosing" that im "creating arguments" and that im wrong this way or that. i never created an argument, and i simply asked what you thought.

do you guys lack that ability or what? this is the 4th time ive asked a question regarding yoru thoughts and u fail to produce a thought related to my question. infact the only people who give me their thoughts on the verse are non-believers.

why is this?

instead of focusing on verses then creating an argument?

eh?

i merely ask what they think of a verse. do they not do the same in christianity? john 3:16 they continually pick out a single verse for this reason and that. why can i not do the same.

You're taking it out of context!!!!

They're not telling you you're picking and choosing. That is their interpretation of the text.

Lao Tzu said "When a foolish man hears about the Tao he laughs. For if he did not laugh it wouldn't be the Tao."

Christians cannot see outside of their box and anything outside of it is either stupid or offensive to them because their book tells them that it is either stupid or offensive. They'll tell you the book doesn't say what it means if they think it means something different from what they says it means.

I can tell you i do not answer your questions or others like it because it will always degenerate into an argument. i could tell you what i thought all day. I do not lack that ability. But I do not like to enter pissing matches with pseudo-intellectual academics or uneducated fundamentalists. I am sorry for not addressing you or others like you as the dialog could be fruitful. Unfortunately the recent use of Q&A leads me to believe more people seek conflict than seek mutual understanding.

I just dont choose to get into a doctrinal debate
I Believe the Bible as written and would rather not argue about it
Gods word is just that Gods word and may He bless you with the knowledge you are seeking

I don't know, it looked like some Christians tried to give you an honest answer. It is just that when someone tried to give a good answer, you apparently assumed that this person was a "non-believer" like you because you liked thier response, and when someone gave a sarcastic answer, you assumed that they were a "Christian" because you didn't like them.

Don't stop. It's fun. I can think . I love a great debate. Give a good question and i will answer it with my brain and not my beliefs. Give it. GOD BLESS.

i'm pagan, but i still think your questions need a little work. instead of focusing on bible verses, then creating an argument, perhaps you should focus on dogma.

Yep....that's why I am tiring of asking questions of them. You never get a straight answer. You add an additional detail and they ignore it in their response.
