Yep, it's true!

When the little fetus enters the world, he/she does not have any knowledge of what religion even is. He/she is completely pure, naiive, yet happy.

After a while of pure joy, he/she is snuffed with painful things like religion, and the child becomes more and more weary.

Alas, life sure is dreary.

This is about my husband's parents. They are, I hate to say, very irresponsible people. I love them, but they're a handful.
Steve (my husband) has known for years that his dad has bad health. He's been begging his dad to get on disability. But they put it off.
In November, Steve gets a call from his dad. He had to quit his job because he's losing his eyesight. So we agreed to pay their rent until he got his disability through. Every month, we scrape up $500 for their rent.
But they're not trying to cut back, or have a plan b, or anything. They're not even pushing their disability case. We are running out of savings.
My husband is mad at them. But he's scared that if he doesn't help he'll be a bad son. What should we do?

Somebody asked me this earlier. And I'd like to both A.) Capitalize on that thought and B.) Ask another question :)

The first thing that comes to mind is actually plagerizing on someone elses answer but if left me laughing to hard that i am going to have to repeat it, given the truth that was contained in the phrase. And that is "Have you ever seen people at the zoo throwing peanuts to the monkeys?...it's kinda the same thing here"...

I am in complete awe of when I ask the question..I know FOR SURE that I will be getting either A.) a scripture or B.) AN OPINION.

and i love seeing peoples opinions. i like to know how your mind thinks.

and no two christians can ever come up with the same answer. It never ceases to amaze me. I am in awe. I can ask the same question a different way and get 2 completley different answers from the same person....???

Now my question is why is it that atheists seem to know more about whats in the bible than xians do?

I don't understand how allowing your own son to be viciously murdered can do any good... This is a serious question, I want to understand why he died for our sins.

For half a decade, many people have been praying that things in Iraq would get better. In your opinion, just how much worse would it be there if these prayers had never been?

above all the people who believe simply because they've been handed this thing called religion?

Maybe scientists would be surprised to find god at the source, but with sufficient evidence, they would undoubtably accept him. For all we know, the quest for the origins of life and the universe may be god's grand plan.

Traditionally, one who works towards a goal is esteemed more than one who simply carries on what they've been given. I would think that if god exists, he would have greater appreciation for the people who've devoted their lives to SEARCHING for the truth, as opposed to those who simply accept what they've been told because of some promise of reward, or threat of punishment.

After all, who could be a bigger moron than you are right now for attempting to decipher the cryptic unfathomability of this question in your puny neanderthal mind? Who appointed you as a genuine member of the human race based merely upon the existence of some bodily fluids and perhaps mobility within the limits of flesh when the obvious pinheadedness of your mental capacity invites more apporppriate comparisons to the arthropodic lifeforms?

It was certainly not I that allowed this miscarriage of judgment to be passed on you!

2 Corinthians 6:14-15 states: "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?"

I myself am engaged to a non-Christian. I'm not currenly in the church but I was a part of it for 16 years and I know right from wrong. At age 16, I made friends with non-believers and strayed from the truth. Now that I am older, I realize where I went wrong and would not make the same mistake again. Simply because I am engaged to someone who isn't religious doesn't mean that I will be any less religious or that my future children won't be raised with religious upbringing; so why is this considered a sin? I would just like your opinions on the matter.
