For half a decade, many people have been praying that things in Iraq would get better. In your opinion, just how much worse would it be there if these prayers had never been?

It would be the same because prayer doesn't work.

I doubt if anybody would bother praying for Iraq at all. Everyone is quite occupied with their own business. If they do pray about Iraq, I think they pray for the safety of their friends or relatives deployed there.

Prayers can do nothing for something that is meant to happen. I don't pretend to know why this is happening, but if 'prayers, spells, and well wishing' doesn't work, maybe it was just meant to be this way.
I use this concept in life all the time, if my own hard work, and 'asking' for help doesn't work, it simply wasn't meant to be, but this is the first I have ever used it in a situation like this...Please let me know if you agree (thumbs)

The prayers had the exact same impact on the situation in Iraq as the amount of Ice Cream that Angelina Jolie has consumed in December has impacted the situation.

It would be exactly the same, but at the same time I think it is still a great thing that people would take the time to bow their heads and pray for it anyway...It shows that, at least, people care...Even if it is making no difference what so ever.

Would you prefer people to just shrug and pay no atttention? Cause I promise you THAT would make things worse.

Imagine how much better it would be if the prayers had been answered.

the world is going down a path foretold by God, lead by the forces of Satan....not God.
there will be no permanent improvement in the human condition until Jesus Christ, who is God, returns to save the world as we know it from total destruction at the hands of....US! mankind would destroy the entire earth if Jesus doesn't return.

What makes you think those prayers were even answered?

It's hard to tell, but I think either Saddam would still be their or the Americans would have nuked the place because they used WMD.

wow, yeah i know it, the bible says that the holy spirit today is restraining evil. if prayer was not available and the holy spirit not restraining evil we would all be done with, it would have been before iraq though.
