I could have sworn I heard that there was a connection many years ago- such as the hotel having been named by Muslim owners of the parent company or something. I'm just wondering if anybody knows anything about this. The web has not been helpful. Thanks!

I couldn’t find any similar, previously asked questions, so forgive me if this has been settled earlier, elsewhere. The question is; will you still follow your religion if conclusive proof were discovered that there is no afterlife. This will just about nullify each and every religion out there. It seems as if the basic formula for all religion to gain power and authority is the same: Tell people, even though it can not be proved, that there is an afterlife, you have a soul, you will be judged based on what you do on earth and, voila, the hard drive is formatted! Add any version of software you like! Now I can just hear people say, “It is so, cause the bible said so!” On that I can just say that from where I’m standing, there seems to be a lot of contradiction and lies in the bible, and as communications and our scientific knowledge grows, the contradiction and lies seem to grow with it.

Given the discoveries of quantum mechanics, that reality a wave of probability that collapses when observed and that the observed reality a creation of the observer, can we safely say that reality and the observer are one and the same? Does this not parallel every wisdom tradition in recorded history?

Ok, since so many people want to argue about the watch thing.... hmmmmm. Evolutionsists claim that life came from a large explosions of NON-LIVING particles. First, where did those particles come from in the first place???? Second, if something living can come from something non-living, then wouldn't make sense for something non-living to come out of the same? Last time I saw an explosion of some kind, I don't remember any living thing coming out of it..... explosions, contrary to popular belief are DESTRUCTIVE, not CONSRUCTIVE. There is NO hands on proof that evolution exists, or that the universe was 'created' in a 'big bang'. That said, there is also no way to prove that God exists, outside of common sense. But there is also NO WAY to EVER prove that He (the Bible refers to HIM as HE!... NOT she) doesn't exist and that evolution does. True science comes from observable proof, which evolutionists have NONE. That's why it's called a THEORY! So quick pushing it as FACT!

I read it in a website, was the website fabricating the truth or is there really a contradiction?

I respect all religions and beliefs, and could never pass judgement on anyone in our world. So please, when I ask this question, it is truly out of my own curiosity and is not meant to be offensive in any way.

Strange as it may seem; Our government puts "In God We Trust" on every coin and dollar. How do Athiest feel about this?

Do they make comments about this when they pay for things, or do they take a black marker and mark out these words?

I'm an Atheist and and Evolutionist, but I came across something last night while researching Creation Science.

The point was made that what would be the benefit to the creatures who would have been born with an incomplete eye during the process of Eye Evolution.

I don't believe there would have been a benefit to a creature swimming around the ocean with an incomplete eye, but logically we reason that there must have been hundreds of parent to child generation to generation of such creatures born with an incomplete eye.

Now, this doesn't mean "there must have been a God".

But it is interesting, not that this means "life is so complex, it had to have a designer",

does it, however, pose to modern science the question of how, for which inevitably science will improve the Theory of Evolution,

What are your thoughts please?

In some parts of Africa it is believed that a spirit of a mermaid can go into humans and make the person do magic or stay under water for as long as 2 years. It is believed that when someone cries because someone has been taken by a mermaid the person will die. The person is also belived to come out as a healer and that person will be able to speak to mermaids. Some people belive that mermaids are satanic demons found in the water. What do you think?

Im not pretentious to think that others cant think for theirselves.I believe people can make their OWN choices. To me NO abortion is the right CHOICE, but we have to offer a choice first.Taking away freedom to choose would kill the idealogy of what Americans fought & died for. Jesus taught compassion and not to judge thats why im PROCHOICE.

Abortion is a medical procedure that should be discussed btwn the woman & her doctor. Ive no right to infringe in anyones medical records.
Im AGAINST abortion.I DESPISE abortion & if I were a woman Id NEVER have one.Im male & wouldnt know how it is so I wont JUDGE her circumstances. I wouldn't know if she was raped, whether the pregnancy will hurt her and the child's health, psych problems etc. Its NOT my business. Its a SENSITIVE issue. Its a MEDICAL issue btwn her and her M.D.
Just like war. War is KILLING. Many babies & adults die in war. But is there ever a reason to go to war?
