I would love to be able to lay some profound knowledge on you here about rather God calls women to be preachers or not but I can't. We serve an all powerful, all knowing God. He knows all that has happened before us, all that is happening right now, and all that will happen in the future. No man can even begin to understand God's mind. For any man to think that he can is just vanity and foolishness. God gives us the ability to choose what we do and what direction we take in life. But in giving us that choice, He already knows the choice we will make and the what the results of that choice will be, if it will be wonderful or tragic. I believe that God will try to help us make the right choices in life if we will listen to Him. I know He has in my life and in most cases I didn't listen to His guidance and it turned out tragically. Your poll, while interesting, cannot answer your question. You and only you will know if you are called by God for any purpose. I do know that all through the Bible and throughout History God used women in powerful rolls that has changed the world today as we know it. Wait on the Lord, establish a closeness with Him through prayer and study of His Word and you will get the answer to your question.

I believe that God designed each sex with certain abilities and attributes. Men are called into positions of authority for a reason. Not to be discriminating, it's just that women are not as well suited for the position. In cases where I have seen women as pastors or preachers, there has always been conflicts and problems, and not just from those who are sexist. Some have been wonderful women of God, full of the Spirit, knowledgeable, and eloquent speakers. I think Paul's discourse was about having order within the church body and ability, not sexual discrimination.

The roles of men and women are clearly spelled out in the Bible, so I do not believe God calls women to be preachers or pastors. However, in the New Testament the apostles write about very active roles for women and there is nothing that could be construed as anti-women.

I don't know if God calls women to be pastors or preachers. But I believe that God is not sexist, so I believe that women should be able to become pastors if they wish. I wouldn't become one, because I'm not cut out for such a job, but I support this idea

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

2 Chronicles 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

This scripture means if He calls you to preach, teach, whatever it is He wants you to do just be obediant and do it. Notice in the scripture that he has "nor respect of persons". So in this case if He feel a child, teenager has the gift of teaching he will use them as well.

1 Timothy 2:12 "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence."

Paul is not saying that women should never teach, for he later said they should teach the younger women (Titus 2:4) and commended Lois and Eunice for teaching Timothy (2 Timothy 1:5; 3:14,15). He knew Priscilla, and, evidently, approved of her part in teaching Apollos (Acts 18:2,26). They are not to take over the primary teaching ministry (which would clearly include that of the pastor) from the men. But if they are the pastor then they have authority.

1 Timothy 2:13 "For Adam was first formed, then Eve. "

The intended leadership role for men in the basic institutions of the home and church dates from the creation itself. That is, Eve was formed from Adam's side to be "an help meet for him" (Genesis 2:18). This is not an invention of the supposedly anti-feminist apostle, as some have alleged but the stipulation of God Himself, even before the entrance of sin and the curse into the world. This in no way means that man is superior to woman in God's sight, for both were created "in the image of God" (Genesis 1:27), and both are "one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). Each, however, was created for a distinctive role and purpose, and neither is truly fulfilled apart from that.

I think it is a mistake to think that God calls us. I think we determine where we go. But the attractive things about being a preacher or pastor would certainly be appealing to women of a certain character, same as men of a certain character. Why not?

I think the danger with attributing our actions to a calling from God is that it transfers our responsibility for our actions off of us, which is like license to do whatever we want and not be accountable for it.

In acts, you have phillips four daughters that prophesied. Deborah in the old testament was in charge of all Israel. God does not have a problem with women preaching, men do. i am a man. I don't believe women or men should preach. I believe that an individual filled with the Spirit of God should preach. hope that is enough

God is not a "guy"-esp one up there with lightening rods---The God I believe in is perfect harmony and perfection and our lives are built around learning how to grow spiritually toward that--"He" is gender and colorblind. The physical world and its prejudices are not part of the spiritual world-they overlap but are different. Don't make the mistake by judging one like the other, or limit yourself and what you can give and achieve by others judgmental "rules" on what God says- who told them? In a world mostly ruled throughout history by men-why wouldn't many things written slant that way? God speaks from your heart......

No God did not call women to preach and it isn't sexist as many will try to say. This goes to God's order...we can go back to Genesis and Eve but this too is to show the order of God.Go back further to creation and you see the first example when God made man He made him first flesh and then he breathed in the spirit. The correct order of God is that the flesh is to serve the spirit. It is the flesh that is tempted by Satan. Now when we consider this order we can see Jesus' relationship to the father many question why Jesus was God and yet he prayed to God...Jesus was the son of God and was a part of the whole of God. Jesus became flesh and flesh as I stated should be in submission to the spirit. Jesus was in submission to the Father as the church is in submission to Jesus...remember the church is to be his bride...the same I said for a man and is wife she should be in submission to her husband...all of this shows the order of God that the flesh is in submission to the spirit. Remember the scripture that say's Jacob I have loved but Esau I have hated? We know God does not hate us...It too is an example of the order of God and shows that the flesh is against God and the spirit is in agreement with God. Many times when you read scripture you will see examples of the first being last and the last being first..again it is an example of physical things and spiritual things...In this world we have many examples of physical things that represent spiritual things...Israel is often used as a physical example of heaven...These twos often show spiritual meanings we had God's covenant with Abraham and this was a physical example of the spiritual covenant that was to come as through faith in the atonement and resurection God has brought forth children of the promise and again the first were last and the last were first....these examples are endless and I hope when you study the word you will see these things and they can show you some spiritual meanings behind many things of God....May God Bless You.
