I'm pro-choice and most people I know are. That being said, I don't know anyone who is in favour of abortion. Most of us believe the same way as you. We just believe a woman should have a safe, legal choice. I think the Clintons said it best when they said that abortion should be "safe, legal and rare".

I understand what you're saying and are conscious of it. i'm professional-determination and not in any respect having had to make the alternative related to having an abortion i will on no account decide a woman that has to make this determination. i don't experience anybody has the spectacular to tell a woman she might desire to hold a newborn that the two she does not choose for, cant guard, replaced into conceived by using rape/incest, could be born so disabled it extra then possibly could be left to stay its existence residing in a mattress in some nursing abode. Adoption is large, tell that to the 1000's of babies waiting to be observed. the only time I somewhat have something unfavorable to declare approximately abortion by using fact that extremely a fetus can no longer stay exterior the human physique till 24 weeks gestation or perhaps at that age does not proceed to exist without existence long disability, is whilst people use it as a type of beginning administration That being pronounced i think of people might desire to realize women that have aboritons extra in many cases then no longer do no longer take the alternative gently or make it spur of the 2d and should no longer be judged. And that is not according to any non secular ideals purely own opinion. besides I purely study a reaction to this submit by potential of somebody else and that i choose for to be attentive to how are you able to assist the dying penalty and be against abortion in case you have self belief abortion is homicide then what precisely is the dying penalty?

To many women these days are using abortion as a means of birth control. I would never do that.I wish that Abortion had never been made legal in the first place things have gone to far. Partial Birth Abortions are murder in the first degree. These babies could have a chance at life outside the womb but they are killed so that right to live is taken away from them.I am 100% for the morning after pill for rape victims. If a 12 year old came home late from school and said I was raped I'd take that child to the E.R. and I give her the morning after pill. Abortion should be very rare.

I hold the same viewpoint you do, and wish more people could separate themselves from other people's lives. They have no way of knowing how the woman became pregnant. They have no way of knowing whether she or the baby will be damaged by the pregnancy. They have no way of knowing if the woman is psychologically unsound and might carry the baby to term, only to kill it after it is born. They have no way of knowing what is going on in the mind of a woman making this very difficult decision, so they should have no say in her decision. If you start drawing the line somewhere - saying only women who are raped or whose health is at risk - should be allowed to have abortions, then you force women who are victims to PROVE that they were assaulted, which is difficult enough to do as it is. To have your future and potentially the next 9-10 months of your life entirely dependent on being able to prove something that often turns into a he-said/she-said battle and frequently places the blame on the victim is absurd and cruel.
As for me, I am on medication for a chronic illness and cannot become pregnant while I am on it because it causes severe birth defects. My boyfriend and I take every precaution, but if we had a slip-up I wouldn't hesitate to abort. It would be wrong, selfish, and inhuman in my thinking to bring a child into this world that I KNEW would have severe birth defects and a lower quality of life. If I were not on this medication, I would absolutely keep an "accident", but as it is, accidents are not an option for me. And frankly, that's no one's business but mine and my boyfriend's.

I think your opinion is very intelligent and wise. I agree with your view on the issue. People often equate pro-choice with pro-abortion. I am pro-choice, but I am not pro-aboriton. I don't think it should be a birth control method, but there are reasons why people sometimes NEED to have abortions. And I'm not going to say pro-life and thus make decisions for everybody. That's not my place. And since God knew what was going to happen in the future, I'm sure he expected this, right? Get over, Christians. Quite quoting the ten commandments.

I have to respect that while you hold your own view dearly, you concede that others have to make their own decisions and choices. It's like that saying : "I may not agree with what you're saying, but I'd fight for your right to say it."
I'm also Pro-Choice. I don't think that I, being a women, would ever have an abortion. But each case is different and my circumstances are not the same as every other woman's. I believe very strongly that the choice should be there, and each woman needs to come to her own decision on the matter (With guidance from her Doctors and perhaps her psychologist as well.)

It makes perfect sense. Pro-choice is NOT "pro-abortion". I don't think anyone likes abortion, but some recognize that that it is not their right to make that decision on someone else's behalf.
And for those who called you spineless etc, EVERYONE who does not actively oppose abortion by marching, donating or belonging to some Pro-life groups is de facto PRO-CHOICE, since they don't care enough about the issue to do anything about it (saying "I'm pro-life" when asked doesn't cut it). Since only a very tiny percentage of the population belongs to such groups or participates actively, the vast majority of the population is by default Pro-Choice.

There is a difficulty with the pro-choice position. Abortion is the only major issue where people can claim an objective viewpoint by saying they favor one position (pro-life) but accept that the diametrically opposed viewpoint (pro-choice / pro-abortion) is acceptable, the truth of the matter to be determined by the individual.
Look at the symantics of the language. Pro-life and pro-choice only identify camps, but they are not descriptive of the opposing views. Really, the dichotomy should be either pro-life and pro-death, or pro-choice and anti-choice. But behold, the Ministry of Truth from Orwell's 1984 is alive and well today.
The only question with "favoring" the pro-life position, but being pro-choice is this: is the unborn child an innocent life in need of protection, or not?
The reason is, you cannot be pro-choice on the murder of a two-year-old; it's wrong, or it's not. You can't be pro-choice on slavery. You can't be pro-choice on rape. Can you imagine? "Well, I personally wouldn't rape your wife, but if somebody else wanted to, I wouldn't have any right to stop them." That's nonsense. Defend the innocent, or don't.

well of course abortion is wrong but first of all I'm a Muslim and i respect Christianity with all my heart and you're asking for answers well in our religion if the woman has been pregnant for more than 40 days then she can't have an abortion if less than 40 days then it's okay although it's not that nice and the reason is that the baby before 40 days has no completable soul and is not completely alive..
but anyway Islam doesn't allow abortion but only in the bad situations and that's before the 40 but after them there are no excuses..
thank you

It does. I used to think that way.
I am coming from the other religious point of view. As an atheist I really don't want the government to regulate morality except where it effects others. When it is truly a medical decision, I still agree, it is no one else's decision. But with the birth control options available there is simply no excuse to start a human life that you don't intend to nurture to the best of your ability. It is irresponsible and has an evil component. I am not in favor of protecting that.
