That question regarding the Noah's Ark, to say "with God all things are possible", will sure its possible I'll be promoted to President of my company this week, but its not practical.

What is the standard of practicality applied to ancient texts, written on sheep skin and goat skin or papyrus?

I haven't yet but should I worry?

I saw someone posting links to those chick tracts things. I remember one of those tracts...

I think someone rolled a 1 on a d20 when making an intelligence check. What do you think? Should I just give it up and admit I am a pagan or something?

I ask this...could you please stop that... I know that you do not believe in what we do but I ask that if you believe that being positive is good enough in life, that you do that and stop walking on the road to an extremist in Iconoclasm.

atheists, kindly tell me: what is it precisely that you fight? i think it may be ORGANIZED religion rather than someone's simple belief in a power greater than us that created Universe. for example, consider the big bang theory: that before stars and planets, all Universe consisted of was "space" and "hydrogen molecules." ok. if you take the big bang theory as proof that there is no g-d, no higher power of creation of LIFE, then tell me, who made space, who made hydrogen? as for me, i do not like organized religion nor do i align myself with it because it is far too political and asset centered. in addition, fights over what religion is correct and which is not is the basis of useless loss of life. i find a living religion, not based on ideas of fire and brimstone or heaven for good deeds (they are a gift to give, not a reward), more appropriate for me to practice. i guess you might call that buddhism, but buddha looked at appreciation of sheer life, g-ds that supported it.

Every time I turn on CNN and there's a shot of 500 brown people in turbins standing in the middle of some bombed-out street somewhere shaking their AK47s in the air and chanting slogans in some goofy foreign language, the anchorperson always says, "And this is footage from the holy city of Booga Booga (or whatever)"

When I picture a "holy city" I picture a city full of devoutly religious people who peacefully go about their business.

Appartenly, being "holy" ain't what it used to be!!

The Ark was taller than a 3-story building and had a deck area the size of 36 lawn tennis courts. Its length was 300 cubits (450 feet, or 135 meters); its width was 50 cubits (75 feet, or 22.5 meters); it had three stories and its height was 30 cubits (45 feet, or 13.5 meters).

If God sent every living species by twos to get aboard, how did they all fit? Even if you just took one group from each species, no subgroups or subspecies, there isn't nearly enough space on the Ark to fit them all. What about food, and keeping everything clean. I am sure any farmer can tell you that keep all that fecal matter cleaned up would take thousands of people?

This one always bothered me as a kid growing up in church.

God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Many people think they are not in adultryeven though they have had a divorce, but some people believe that as long as the first spouse is alive, then if divorce and you marry another , you are in adultry.Churches that teach against adultry have different definitions of adultery and how can one know who is right? This makes a difference, because it can help to mark a true church from a false one.
