I am getting tired of seeing this from people here who say they believe only in science. The blanket statement that "there is no God" completely disregards science, and proclaims incredible arrogance.
Example: What if I were to state: "There is no continent of Antarctica." Of course it would be easy to prove me wrong, since people have been to Antarctica, seen it, and photographed it. There is empirical evidence to prove that the continent exists.

Now, what if I were to state: "There is no life beyond our planet." The athiests here would call me an idiot, because I would have to have a detailed knowledge of all the solar systems in all the galaxies in the universe in order to be sure that my statement is true. Of course I do not have this knowledge, and neither do you. So we can only say, I BELIEVE there is no life on any other planets because it is improbable, etc.

Similarily, how do you KNOW there is no God? No, you BELIEVE that. You do not have all knowledge.

Is that one of the requrements or can you become ordained simply by attending seminary and fulfilling certain educational requirements?

I am not racist in any way shape or form ,but am increasingly concerned over muslims taking over britain. They should be greatfull to come to this country but no they are bent on causing problems by trying to get us cristians to become them .why dont they just go do there own thing in there own country it seems the only reason they come here is to sponge from this country.Allways ask for a reciept for your fuel from a muslim garage as if you will notice they will not offer you have to ask. This is another way they can rob this country by giving the reciepts to muslim buisneses.I was in support of labour and i know i am a good person but these muslims must go or i am voting bnp very soon.

.....and a Hell with little demons who will poke you with pitchforks? Or do you believe that they are both another spiritual level, and Heaven and Hell will be what YOU make of it?

I am a Christian, struggling with the idea that Heaven is currently a place where God hangs out with the angels, watching and waiting for the end of time.

What are your views?

If you believe in both Evolution (the kind where it is survival of the fittest, and man evolved over millions of years and were apes)... Can you believe that homosexuality is natural as well?

Wouldnt it seem that homosexuals would be the "weakest link" in the human species and would eventually die out for not being able to procreate? (assuming no invitro, egg donating, surrogate mothers).

I am not interested in answers from Christians who do not understand evolution. I am only interested in answers from those who believe or understand evolution as I have explained it above (or an idea close to it)

Thank you!

Ephesians 6:16-18
16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

If you believe we have freewill (and that's why there's so much bad stuff in the world, because we cause it and God won't interfere with freewill for anything) than how can you believe the bible is infallible?

We know for a fact that man physically wrote the bible. Christians believe it is the divine word of God, and man was merely the scribe.

If the bible was written by man, couldn't it have been altered by man? If we have freewill this seems very likely. And we know for a fact that Romans used violence to force people to convert to Christianity. Could they not have used their freewill to change the text to suit their own selfish desires? The Roman Church was the power, and very few people could read. The scribes would have to do what the Roman leaders wanted.

Do we have freewill or not?

this is where i have to wonder if you hate magic and call it a miracle isnt it like you are ignoring the fact that people can do magic and there are christo-pagans and christo-wiccans who use magic from the bible and some of the prayers in the psalms can be used as magic too but yet its hated? it makes no sence once so ever.

I was baptized lutheran and raised Catholic. For the past year I cannot help but feel I have "something" working against me and it has caused to seek the occult. I know things, but I don't know why I know them. I feel connections to things though they may not be my favorite or bring me "luck". Does this make any sense to anyone? Or should I except the fact that my egg is cracked and I'm losing my mind.

Just asking. Not a troll question, a legitimate question. Doing a yahoo search on "god gene" this is what came up,

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=god+gene&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

There are 7,910,000 websites that address that, a "god gene".

So, I ask again, is there a difference between Atheists and Theists at a genetic level?

And no, this is NOT a troll question.

My mother is a "re-enstated" Jehovah's Witness. They go to these annual convention things and I have been invited. The problem is, I am a Baptist and I don't believe in what the Jehovah's Witnesses teach. Some things in THEIR bible contradicts what the real bible teaches. My mother says that if I don't go, then she won't. She got me with this guilt trip last year and since I was only 17, I had to go. Now I'm legally an adult and I don't HAVE to go. I just don't want to hurt her feelings. 95% of my family are JWs and they have been trying to convert me ever since they found out that I'm Baptist. The conventions are three days long and boring. Last year, I simply kept my iPod on for the duration and read a novel. I really don't want to go, but I don't want to have my mother stay behind because of me. How do I get out of this one?

I recently received a coupon good for 5% off my next full body car wash at my local shop. The problem I'm having is that they think I am a previous customer... as you may have guessed, I am not.

You see, I took my grandpa's car there once a while back and, though I paid for the car wash, grandpa paid me back.

This leads me to believe the right thing to do is give grandpa the coupon, but my car is filthy... should I give the coupon to grandpa or use it on my Lexus? What would Jesus do?

As far as I am aware, Catholics believe that homosexuality is wrong and not natural, yet they believe a man walking on water is natural? Can anyone explain the logic of how things like homosexuality and abortion are wrong when they except that a man raised from the dead?
