As far as I am aware, Catholics believe that homosexuality is wrong and not natural, yet they believe a man walking on water is natural? Can anyone explain the logic of how things like homosexuality and abortion are wrong when they except that a man raised from the dead?

Yeah but how can you believe a man, or Jesus son of God, or whoever, walked on water, but judge someone because of who they love?

Jesus is the son of God... He is perfect with out Sin....
If a sick man was to break the thermometer would that prove that he did not have a fever? If a thief said that he did not believe what is written in the law books would that make him innocent of crime? Similarly the fact that many people do not believe it is necessary to live according to the Bilbe standards does not put an end to sin-1John 1:8
Some people may choose to do what Gods word forbids but that does not prove the Bible wrong. Galatians 6:7,8 warns:"do nor be misled:God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing this he will also reap;because he who is sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh"The epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases (fornication),broken homes, and so forth, gives evidence of the truthfulness of what the Bible says.God made man;He knows what will bring us lasting happiness; He tells us in the Bible. Does it not make sense to listen to him?

It was not just a man that walked on water; it was God and it was a miracle; not a natural act at all. As a Catholic I have something called faith which not only allows me to accept bu to also believe that Jesus walked on water and performed all the other miracles he did. It is not a matter of logic, it's not an intellect thing, it is faith. And just so you know, many Catholics struggle with the same questions you're asking. While I do consider myself Catholic, I cannot agree that all abortions are wrong. My personal beliefs on homosexuality are not relevant since I am a straight, married woman, but I will say I don't agree with the Church in all areas, and alot of people don't. Try not to make blanket statements about all Catholics; they don't always fit. An example? George Bush and some of his cronies support whole-heartedly the war in Iraq. Does that mean that all Americans do? Can I say that all Americans support the war just because the leader of their nation does?

I'm agnostic so I don't know if I qualify. Being agnostic I'm also religious but skeptical of people.

I have studied Christianity, which is the target of your query, and don't believe that it was accepted that "a man walking on water" was natural, if so then why make such a big deal of it in the scriptures? This is the same with raising the dead.

Homosexuality and abortion "crimes" are an invention of man. Before it because a societal stigma there were very very few homosexuals. Most homosexuals are the way they are now because they are unable to deal with society without being "special" and being something controversial gives them that.

Abortions were performed on an as needed basis in the old world, only modern society, once again people trying to be special by imposing their will on others, has made an issue of it.

To attached spiritual beliefs with man-made laws is a false dichotomy, the two are not interchangeable or even relative to one another.

Jesus Christ is the son of God. He died on the cross as a sacrafice for sin. Being raised from the dead was part of that process. It was the ressurection as he had promised his disciples. As far as homosexuality, God created a man and a woman. He states in the Bible that this is the way of marriage and not 2 men or 2 women together. It states very clearly in the Bible that sexual relationships between two of the same sex is sin. It happened back then and it is still going on now. You don't have to agree with it and that would be why God gave everyone free will to accept his son and become born again or live by the way of the world.

I say homosexuality is wrong and not natural. Yet those who are gay are not bad eveil people. I don't believe they will not go to heaven. I am not there judge and difinitely don't know exactly what god thinks of this. judging peoples actions is gods job not ours. and jesus christ would be the first one to defend a woman who just committed abortion. Christ is love and forgiveness. and abortion is evil in all cases except in life and death situations. One evil does not cure another evil but im pretty sure jesus would forgive an abortionist. Jesus was just not any man he was God Incarnate He could do what he pleased and he chose to give us the option to save our ownselfs something we had not in the past. Remember in christ's time god was in a temple behind a curtain and only a handful of pharisses could come near his presence or so we were led to believe by the pharisees. God is all around us we just ignore the fact.

I know what you are saying, a lot Christians are very judgmental people, and the bible is a very judgmental book as well, which is why I left it and I am now a Wiccan, but don't blame Christianity, hell, I don't and at one time they murdered many of my type and many more who weren't, Christianity did not write the book and Christianity did not make its followers wrathful, judgmental and hateful, don't hate Christianity, hate the people who hate in the name of Christianity, or any religion for that matter. I am fully a Wiccan that supports Christianity, it really is a good religion based on good things, love, forgiveness, ect. (And even though the book has it's judgementful parts, remember, it was written by (obviously) judgementful people, not the Christian god or Christianity, and the walking on water and stuff are just stories with morals to show people the rights and wrongs of the religion, though some believe it was real.) God created the world with Adam and Eve not Adam and Evan or Eve and Alexis therefore making Homosexuality WRONG because that is not the way GOD wanted it to be. Abortion is like murder which is stated in the TEN COMMANDMENTS to be WRONG. The JESUS walking on water and JESUS being risin from the dead is just a way for GOD to make HIMSELF known to the entire world. For goodness sake read the BIBLE it pretty much explains itself.Got it?

Catholics are only one of the religious sects under the umbrella of Christianity. Most if not all of the Christian religious sects as well as most other religious sects believe that homosexuality is wrong. I don't espouse any religion and I don't feel it is right for anyone to judge. Christians believe that Christ walked on water, not that it was "natural". It is believed to be a miracle, not natural at all. They "accept" (note the spelling of the correct word) that a man was raised from the dead also as a miracle. I personally don't believe any of it.

Walking on water is NOT natural. That is the whole point. Through the power and grace of Jesus Christ, all is possible.... even raising a man from the dead. Homosexuality and abortion are wrong because the Bible states that they are immoral, and "abomination".

I am not Catholic but I do know that no one who believes in the Jesus of the NT believes it is natural for one to walk on water, even Jesus. That is why it was a miracle, or Supernatural.

If you really really think about it, regardless of what society has called "natural" or "morally acceptable", it doesnt make sense biologically for one to be homosexual. Im talking the way our bodies were made.
