I think that most of the descriptions of heaven and hell are more impressions that people have rather than literal facts regarding those places. There is really no way to fully explain how great heaven will be or how bad hell is. Heaven will be eternity with God and hell eternity separated from Him. The details are really not necessary, although it is understandable why people are curious.

I believe in a heaven that is far more beautiful than any of us can imagine.
The streets of gold are transparent gold and would be different than the gold we are familiar with.
I have no problem with the literal translation.
Didn't God create gold, and precious jewels.
As to Hell, I don't know about pitchforks, wasn't that a Dante's Inferno concept.
I do believe that Hell is an uncomfortable place to live, and probably uglier than any of us has ever imagined.
I don't look as heaven being a place that God hangs out with the angels, but the abode of God.
The angels are either servants in heaven, or they are messengers on the earth.
There are some of both.
As to His waiting for the end of time.
God orchestrates time.
God said that the end will start as soon as those who are to be martyred, have been martyred.

I know there is a literal heaven with angels, but I don't know if that will be OUR heaven. The tail end of the Revelation describes in great detail "New Jerusalem". It's quite fantastic and also hard to understand how something like that could happen, but with God as the architect, it is possible. So New Jerusalem may be our heaven. We might not actually go to God's heaven - I'm clueless about that. I don't think that anyone will poke the non-believers in hell, though. I don't think there will be pitchforks, and I do think everyone might feel as though it is solitary confinement, but that is probably an unfounded belief. The Bible says so little about both subjects!

Absolutely not.
All religions have some different version of the afterlife. 72 Virgins, Reincarnation, Heaven, Hell, Purgatory, limbo, etc.
It seems like every single one of the Bibles stories is nothing but bunk. Yet, religious fanatics are always trying to disprove scientific theories and scientific fact. Galileo, Darwin, etc.
As you can see lately, religion is nothing more than a way to control, or say that you are better than the others. Anybody that does not fit into their moral code is deemed unfit and is persecuted. All religions do that and continue to do that.
I suppose the most gullible people are susceptible to falacies and believe whatever you tell them, example Heavens Gate, Wako Texas, Jones Town, End of the world cults, etc etc.
Then their are people that belive in witchcraft, Goblins, Ghosts, etc, etc. Then there are numbers 13, 666, etc.
These lists are endless and continue to grow without limits.
because it is all made up and left to the imagination.
You go ahead and believe whatever you want to believe or whatever somebody else wants you to believe.
Personally, I don't believe in any of that nonsense anymore.

Heaven is more like a spiritual state than actually a place. Heaven is to be with Jesus Christ there for we cannot hope or have faith in heaven because it is already there, but we can have love because love endureth forever! In heaven we will meet up with our bodies, whether or not we will look 30 or 80, I do not know. There are Angels and Saints there and of course Mary the Mother of God, along with hopefully the people that have left us. God Bless You!

Yes, I believe in a literal Heaven, the golden streets thing I'll have to examine closely.
Don't believe in Hell. Demons, yes, pitchforks, yes, but over there with the hay farmers.
I don't believe that THEY are on another spiritual level, I believe that WE are on the alternate spiritual level. God created our material world to shield us from the other one while we're developing. Our innate abilities to sense the other world are proof of our connection to it. Not that we have any POWER in those abilities, sensitivity and preoccupation with speculating about it are natural results of a connection we can't yet see clearly.

You can read about what Heaven will be like in the last chapter of Revelation- "The New Jerusalem" -Yes much gold! No weeping, No pain, No evil, No illnesses...but complete Joy.
Hell is also described as place with weeping and gnashing of teeth- stated in the gospels. It is also called the outer darkness and shows just how real it is when in Mark it says "where the worm dieth not and the fire is not quenched"

It's just a figure of speech. Heaven and Hell are in fact located right here on Planet Earth. If you are a good Christian, you are effectively in the company of God and his angels, who guide you and look out for you. Sinners are torn apart by their selfishness and desires.

I don't believe in Heaven or Hell. Angels or demons. I would hate to go to this Heaven and find out someone I cared about didn't make it. Where would the joy be in that?
