Can someone tell me why if it is believed in some churches that baptism saves, then how is it that not all of the baptised will be saved? And of course not EVERY person that is saved will be baptised?

(yes i do believe that people should be baptised, it is a commandment)

I'm not trying to argue infant vs believers baptism.....just mainly wondering if people would agree that not all that are baptised will be saved

If a person really believes they should have their kids baptised, that is fine with me, they are bringing up a Christian i would presume.

Mark 16:15, 16
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."
Romans 6:1-
What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or dont you all know that all of us who were babtized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through our babtism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Those who say Baptism is not necessary for Salvation are calling Jesus a liar.

Jesus said:
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; (Mark 16:16)

Jesus told his Apostles to Baptize:
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, (Matt 28:19)

Peter said this about Baptism:

Acts 2:38 Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit.

1 Peter 3:20-21 ... in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which a few persons, eight in all, were saved through water. This prefigured baptism, which saves you now.

Baptism is the ONLY way to remove original sin.
Baptism is how we are "born again".
Baptism is how we become a member of the Church.

Circumcision was the entrance into the old covenant and was done to 8 day old infants... Baptism is how we enter the New Covenant and that is why we should Baptize infants as soon as possible.

Every person who is saved will be baptised.

Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God

Unless we are calling Yahoshua a liar. A man must be immersed in the warters.

The reason that not all who are baptised will be saved is because one must also obey what was spoken by Yahuweh. Baptism is but one commandment given to those who believe. As James said, faith without works is dead.

The lawless, who have no part in the Kingdom will not obey Yah's Law. Why? Because they are lawless, or without law by definition. The faithful will obey in all things.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus

They were saved by faith, yet they still kept the commandments of Yahuweh, chosing what was pleasing to the Father.

Mat 12:50 For whosoever shall do the WILL OF MY FATHER which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Psa 40:8 I delight to do THY WILL, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW.

Mark 16:16 explains it quite simply.

"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned."

This does NOT teach faith only. There are many verses in the Bible that command baptism as the means for salvation. Baptism cannot be left out of the equation, nor is it for infants, nor is it to "join the church".

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38

"The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" 1 Peter 3:21

"One Lord, one faith, one baptism," Ephesian 4:5

I baptise you with water, the one after me will baptise you with the holy spirit. John the baptist.

The water baptism does not save you. It is when you are baptised in the holy spirit from accepting Christ. When I was one month old and Baptised, why would I bother doing anything else if I was saved? Why believe? Christ is the only way to heaven, not wine, not bread, not water basptism.

Because not all who have been baptized were saved first. Baptism is an act of obedience. Once you have been saved, you are to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is a symbol of your new life in Christ - washing away the sins and coming out cleansed. Amen!

If a person just gets baptized thinking that it is the way to be saved, they are deceived. Baptism won't save you any more than going to church. Baptism and going to church, reading the Bible...etc. are results of being a new creation - you suddenly have the desire once Jesus Christ is truly in your heart.

I will say this: baptism by water is not what saves but "baptism by fire and of the Holy Ghost" all baptism does is profess that you believe in the Gospel. That Christ was born of a virgin, Crucified for the sins of the world, and rose from the dead three days later.

Baptism is a profession of faith. As long as you are saved and have asked Jesus into your heart as your personal savior than you will get to heaven. Most christians want to be baptized though as there profession of faith. However, different religions believe different things. Some do believe that you do have to be baptized to get into heaven.

Roman's 10:9,10 If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

Baptism is the outward expression of an inward change.....going down in the water and coming back out is a symbol of the old man being washed from His/her sins and coming out as a new man
