God got into it with Satan and now they are both promising us presents and each telling us stories to try and turn us against the other one.

What makes a person a Jew?

according to Isaiah and his predictions-it is believing in the Jewish Messiah!

Yet when the temple was destroyed in 70ce/ad many Jewish people had come to know the Messiah personally, as many know Messiah Jesus today too. But for the ones that fulfill the prophecy that we would despise and reject him-these Jewish people made a new religion which rejects Moses & Isaiah our Jewish Scripture leaders-saying God lied -we dont need a blood sacrifice-we reject the prophecies of Messiah Jesus and make our own way of salvation and new religion.

Moses stated "Thus saith the Lord, The life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it on the altar to make atonement for your souls." Leviticus 17:11

Isaiah 700bce predicted Isaiah 52:13-53:12 "He will be exalted, but first marred more than any man, despised and rejected and lay down his life to make atonement for our sins."

Why is an athiest Jew and not Moses& Jewish believers in the Messiah a Jew?

In the Catholic faith we are taught that the trinity is God the father, Jesus is the son and the Holy Spirit. I want to hear what readers' ideas and thoughts are. What have your experiences been.

For example,

I've often asked Atheists who demand "proof" of God what happens when a human dies, and traditionally the Atheist says nothing, and I ask can you prove it?

I don't believe in God, I'm more of an Agnostic, because I like to have a world view of things that have been proven.

Just wondering since I see so many people who find errors in the Bible and the Quran, if they have found any errors in their own thinking.

Self examination is so much more fun that editorilizing the Illiad and the Odessy, wouldn't you agree?

Untill 7 years ago I knew this was the case and knew I was very greatful for Jesus dieing in my place. However it also really messed with my head - from a very young age I thoroughly believed I was worthless with no redeeming feature other than God loved me and Jesus had been willing to die for me.
As you can imagine that wasnt quite healthy.
However it was what was drummed into me - how has everyone else responded to this type of teaching - no graphic horrifying stories please i have left my details out. I just want to know how much you believe it, how you interpret it and how you live with it?
I will just clarify that my 'sins' were things like feeling angry at the dog, shouting at my mother or 'taking the lords name in vain'.

I have been trying to figure this one out. If believing in God is your answer tell me who made him. God may answer the question of how we got here but it does not answer how anything exist at all. Even god had to start somewhere right? How did this beginning start in the first place?

If humanity cannot outlast the universe then all the sacrifices of our ancestors were completely IN VAIN! If the day of our complete destruction were to arrive, people wasted the only lives they got. When all have perished, what good is the "fun" some of us had? It is nothing. It would be as though it never happened.

On another note, I read this story called "The Last Question" by Isaac Asimov that really got me thinking. What if we can outlast the universe by mastering the ultimate technology? All the dreams of mankind would be fullfiled!

This is the only real hope it seems, since religion is so suspicious. Do you believe we will get past our wars and greed and hatreds in order to eventually find this "New Heaven"? Do you believe that humanity's love of life is stronger than its hatred of it?

Don’t hate me for this, check my other question on romance and laws of physics, you will see why I am burning the hell out of you.
Error #1

Is there any mountaintop on a round earth from which one can see “all the kingdoms of the world” (Matthew 4:8)? (If this is not to be taken literally, why does the devil take Jesus up “an exceeding high mountain” at all?)

Error #2

Is there any kind of life after death, as most Christian denominations teach (backed by numerous texts) or is it true that the dead do not have “any more for ever a portion in any thing that is done under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 9:6)?

Error #3

Is it true that "No man has ever seen God at any time" (John 1:18) or did Isaiah (6:1) and Moses and the elders (Exodus 24:9-12) see God?

Error # 4

Did the plot of the king of Syria with Pekah, the son of Remaliah, against Judah fail (II Kings 16:5) or succeed (II Chronicles 28:5-8)? In light of the passage from Chronicles, what are we to think of the prophecy regarding this plot in Isaiah 7:1-7? See especially verse 7: "Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass." Is the Bible telling us that the plot that God said shall not stand or come to pass did stand and come to pass?

Error # 5

In II Kings 9 and 10, we are told the story of Jehu’s anointing as king and his going into battle at Jezreel against Ahab. He was commanded to do this by God (9:6-10), and later, God announced that Jehu had "done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart" (10:30). Why, then, does Hosea, a couple of centuries later, write, "And the Lord said unto him ... I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel"? The blood of Jezreel was shed at God's command and with his approval, yet he says he’s going to take vengeance for something that never would have happened without his own command. Worse yet, he’s going to take vengeance on "the house of Jehu" – that is, on descendants who had not even been born at the time of the bloodshed of Jezreel.

I know I am inspiring hatred towards myself however if you read my other question on romance and laws of physics you will understand why is it very hard to let go of the things you get used to even if you know they are wrong.

Let me get going with mistakes in Quran part 3.

Sun-set and Sun-rise
Koran teaches us that the Sun sets in a muddy spring:
Quran 18: 86 Till, when he (the traveller Zul-qarnain) reached the setting-place of the Sun, he found it going down into a muddy spring…
Quran 18: 90 Till, when he reached the rising-place of the Sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter from it.
Serious scientific errors here! Firstly, it is scientifically accepted fact that, the Sun never go down in a muddy spring. Secondly, this seems to presuppose a FLAT Earth, otherwise how can there be an extreme point in the West or in the East? A sunrise there would be basically just the same as at any other place on this earth, at land or sea. It would still look as if it is setting “far away”. It does say, that he reached THE PLACE where the Sun sets and in his second Journey the place where it rises.
A resting place for Sun!?
Quran 36: 38 And the sun runneth on unto a resting place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.
Quran 36: 39 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm leaf.
Quran 36: 40 It is not for Sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.
Allah is indeed a big scientist. Where is sun and where is moon situated? Can anybody tell me how they could collide/meet/overtake each other? Are the sun and the moon neighbors to each other? I have the answer for this error: Ancient Allah saw (bare eye observations) sun and moon traveling from east to west seemingly in the same Sky area or same path, without colliding, causing day and night etc. Allah hardly could imagine that all these phenomena are simply due to Earth’s rotation and NOT by Sun’s rotation. Sun is stationary for Earth, because earth is stuck in the sun’s Gravity, like we are stuck in earth’s gravity. Allah never says any where in the whole Quran that, EARTH ROTATES. Perhaps Allah could not feel earth’s rotation.
A resting place for sun WAS CONFIRMED BY HADITHS?
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421
Sahih Bukhari Hadiths: Abzur Ghifari (ra) narrated: one day Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) asked me, “Abzar do you know after setting where does Sun go?” I replied, I do not know, only Allah’s apostle can say better. Then Prophet (SA) replied, “After setting, the sun remains prostrated under Allah’s Aro’sh and waits for Allah’s command for rising again in the East. Day will come when sun will not get permission to rise again and Qeyamot will fall upon Earth”.
Can anybody tell me what is it? It was the superstitious belief of ancient people reflected in the Quran and Hadiths by Allah. A 10-year-old boy would not tell such fairy tale story today.
