My question really is, why, in life and death situations, do Christians always seek out scientific/real-world help, but any other day, when asked "Why does God kill good people"? (just for instance) do they answer that it is his plan? Why then, do people get chemo for cancer, because isn't cancer part of "God's plan". And if a religious person loves God so much, why are they so willing to put off meeting him? Wouldn't they rejoice at meeting their maker?

I'm very confused with this. I have a good friend who is straight, but has an effeminate voice and, at times, acts effeminate.
Is he going to hell just because he's effeminate, though he has a longtime girlfriend and is planning an August wedding?

My friend just can't help being this way....it's who he is.

Are there classes offered in the church that will make him more of a 'man'....or more "manly", so he can go to heaven?

2007-01-22 04:29:33 · 15 answers · asked by Anonymous

Let me see if I have this straight:

1. god creates the Universe.
2. god creates heaven and hell.
3. god creates mankind.
4. god demands reverence, respect and unabashed worship from all of mankind.
5. god casts the souls of those who do not worhsip it into hell (that it has created just for this purpose) for all eternity.

---------

IN CONCLUSION:

Your "god" either (a) has serious self-esteem issues (b) suffers from an inferiority complex or (c) is just plain f*cked in the head.

Which one is it?

God becomes real in your life when you mentaly accept God as representing the facts as they really are, being true, acceptance, assent, belief, credence. You become God as mutch as you accept from God... the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit... I AM the FATHER, I AM, the SON, I AM the HOLY SPIRIT... I AM THAT I AM... I was in the Past, I am in the Present, and I will always be infintly eternal...

I mean aside from differences in the story do you think your both pretty much worshipping the same god? And if not what are the differences?

I'm leaning towards joining a non-denominational church, which focuses EXCLUSIVELY on God's Word, minus all the legalistic traditions and conflicting beliefs. Of course some of those will have their faults as well, especially when it comes to the mega churches.

However, at this point, a non-denominational church seems a better alternative to fellowship with other Christians and study God's Word, while avoiding a great deal of deception in the process. I'd like to know if there are other Christians who feel this way?

If things are this confusing now, I can NOT imagine what it will be like when we are really close to Christ's return. Whew! Between cults, prosperity teachers, Traditional Dogma, and churches changing their views every few years as they "grow", I've found myself praying daily for God's direction in this matter. The Devil is definitely working overtime, and has obviously assigned a wide range of activities for his followers.
