My question really is, why, in life and death situations, do Christians always seek out scientific/real-world help, but any other day, when asked "Why does God kill good people"? (just for instance) do they answer that it is his plan? Why then, do people get chemo for cancer, because isn't cancer part of "God's plan". And if a religious person loves God so much, why are they so willing to put off meeting him? Wouldn't they rejoice at meeting their maker?

One of the responses said that people don't want to die because they don't want to leave family and friends. This makes sense; BUT, isn't your God a jealous god. Aren't you supposed to love him more than anything?

People who believe because otherwise they will burn are, basically, either fearful or opportunistic. In a life and death situation, these kind of people will turn to whatever they figure gives them the most immediate benefit.

Their supposed god is said to be able to raise the dead. They shouldn't need doctors.

BTW, there was in interesting article in Scientific American on how cancer and evolution have interacted.

Your question is a little confusing. Humans do have free will. God gave us that, but God is always in control. This does not mean he directly controls our actions. Sort of like a parent and child. The parent does not "hop into" the child's head and control the child's actions. But the parent can prod the child in the right direction.

Except for Jesus Christ the death of a anyone was never God's plan! It was by our insistence that death came into the world. Does God call people home out of this world, yes of course. But He murders no one! We are His creation and like a potter at the wheel He has the right to break His clay pots and begin again. God has given us an increase in learning in these last days that can work what Biblical aged people would call miracles. Why can't we uses the miracles of God that He has given to mankind? I don't fear my death, I will welcome it as the time comes. But God has given this time to love and I intend to to just that... Jim

People don't want to die because they don't want to be away from their family and friends.

And as far as the "God's plan" goes, he created the Universe and he is responsible for everything.

If he wanted to keep something from happening, he could, but he doesn't always intervene.

We don't know why and we never will know while we are on this Earth. It's beyond our comprehension at the moment, but when we die, I believe we will recieve the answers.

Ofcourse this means all of the non-believers are part of God's plan too.

We were all just put here to challenge Christians faith.
