Why would your god want to put one of his truest believers through so much torment and pain? Why is that seen in such a positive light? I know you all think its great that he remained faithful to god, but man, how could love a deity that would do that?

2: Do Not Tell your problems to others unless asked
3: When in someone else's home show him respect or do not go there.
4: Do Not make sexual advances unless you are in a situation in which is is appropriate and welcomed.
5: Do Not take that which does not belong to you.
6: Do Not complain about anything that you should not have exposed yourself to.

Was that the plan all along? Is that why he put the tree of knowledge into the garden of eden? So that we could become like him and have eternal life?

As you believe so it is done unto you!

God becomes real in your life when you mentaly accept God as representing the facts as they really are, being true, acceptance, assent, belief, credence. You become God as mutch as you accept from God... the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit... I AM the FATHER, I AM, the SON, I AM the HOLY SPIRIT... I AM THAT I AM... I was in the Past, I am in the Present, and I will always be infintly eternal...

Recorded history dates back to roughly 3500B.C. Traditionally people say that Abraham was the founder of the Jewish religion. Whether or not he was an actual person is up for debate.

Anyways, is there any historical evidence for the existence of a Jewish religion before the time that Abraham was said to have lived?

I've heard numerous dates attributed to when he lived, but the earliest one is set around 2000B.C.

So, is there any secular evidence for the existance of a montheistic religion that follows the beliefs of Judiasm before he was said to have lived?

Essentially, I think that organized religion takes something that is professed to be so great and bring so much joy, and turns it into something that divides and breeds hate. The belief in God is wonderful (for those that believe) but the implementation of organized religion leaves something to be desired. I'm not a peace-fanatic, hippie, nor unrealistic, but wouldn't it have made more sense for God to create the belief without the extra.

So homosexuals can get married, according to every law he marriage will be valid, but some Christians have the right to believe their God won't see it as a real marriage. Problem fixed, everybody happy?

I mean, no one's asking you guys to marry them in your churches. If a church wants to do a holy ceremony that's up to them individually.

But, these people that want to get married are already commited to each other. They just want the same rights as any other American couple, and it is religious discrimination not to let them have them.

Also, there is a lot of evidence that it would be good for society. Gay men could look forward to getting married when they got older if they wanted to. Marraige has been shown in general to decrease crime by getting young men off the street. As an American citizen, it is maddening to me to see this injustice, which I believe is no different than when Afro-Americans could not use the same water fountains as whites, or sit on the same part of the bus.

I understand you do not support it. But why do you feel you have the right to control how people live their lives?

He is born to a teenage pesant girl in a manger in an obscure village in the middle of a dessert. And the whole world is supposed to hear about it and be converted.
Instead the messaged is massaged and corrupted and takes so long to move along that by the time it reaches other places it's received with mistrust or outright rejection. Then everyone grabs a stick and the first religious confrontation starts. Should God have known that his plan would create war and hatred because the way He marketed it?

This battle over gay marriage has gotten ridiculously bogged down by religious ideas and perception. These people simply want (and deserve) the same tax treatment, survivorship rights, etc as straight couples. This has nothing to do with religion. Call it something other than marriage if it bothers you that much. But this issue should have been resolved long ago. There is no legal merit to denying these people the rights that all of us enjoy.
Last I checked America was supposed to be all about equal rights for everyone. Now let's get on the ball, and straighten out this huge injustice.
