Essentially, I think that organized religion takes something that is professed to be so great and bring so much joy, and turns it into something that divides and breeds hate. The belief in God is wonderful (for those that believe) but the implementation of organized religion leaves something to be desired. I'm not a peace-fanatic, hippie, nor unrealistic, but wouldn't it have made more sense for God to create the belief without the extra.

If you believe, to begin with, in God, the omnipresent, impotent, the all powerful, the ALL KNOWING, the only one that we can not encompass by our brains, the answer is NO, because he knows far better than an Earth full of our likes.

But if you belief in a personal God, who walks in heaven and says: Adam, where are you, why are hiding yourself from me, and rested on the seventh day after creating the world, then the answer is definitely YES, as such a God I can definitely put him, one day, in a test tube and see if He is really the Almighty.

There you go. Make your choice!

Organized religion is a human mistake. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him, not be a member of some group. Fellowship is a good thing, but not in the place of knowing God. I am a devout follower of Christ, but I have not found any organized group or denomination that is right for me. When I face God to account for my life on earth, it will just be me and Him, so until I find an organization that I feel is right for me, I see no problem with worshipping God as an individual.

Through organized religion, may great works have been done. The Salvation Army, outreach programs, ministries, food kitchens, etc. have helped millions of people. My church took care of 80 families after Hurricane Katrina. It would be difficult to get help to so many people if the effort wasn't organized. The hatred and division comes from not doing God's will.
