Was that the plan all along? Is that why he put the tree of knowledge into the garden of eden? So that we could become like him and have eternal life?

OK misinterpreted the eternal life part. Its a referance to mans thought, not gods thought

No, the plan from the beginning was to give us the choice to be with God. We were "eternal, perfect human beings" before humans chose the sin.

If we didnt have free will, we'd all the robots.

God put adam and eve in the garden of eden along with an evil serpent and a tree.

He then told them not to eat from the tree, but adam and eve, being the equivalent of little kids did exactly what a little kid would do if you tell them not to do something.

Then God got pissed at them for doing exactly what he knew they would do all along, and kicked them out.

This 'God' fellow strikes me as being quite daft.

No. God does not WANT man to sin, but God wanted man to experience evil, sadness, rejection etc. Does that mean man HAS to sin? Not necessarily, but he did have to eat the fruit. By knowing these things we do become like God. Satan's lie was not that Adam and Eve would become like God, but that they would not die. And you can take that to the bank!

if loyalty is not tested then it is not loyalty... man kind had all that was needed for what God intended... it was not about The Tree... it was about obedience.... the statement "...that we could become like him and have eternal life" is a miss quote... satan did deceive eve into thinking that eating would make them Gods... but they already had eternal life.

no, any one of us would have taken that apple. It isnt as much literal as figurative. Adam and Eve did not cause all of us to sin forever more and live in pain. We have free-will. We dont have to sin, it is just an excuse to say, "It is in our nature" it is more of a symbol of us all choosing our flesh over God.

Hi Matt, no God does not want us to sin He cannot abide sin,but He can and will allow us to stew in our own juices so to speak in the hope that we will be so sick of our sins that we might turn from them and back to Him instead.

God doesn't want us to sin.
Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

the plan was to give us free will so that we aren't forced to believe or obey God like robots.

God did not want man to sin. But He did not want to make a bunch of robots to love and obey him. He wants us to love and obey him by choice. That is true love.

God (swt) gave a free choice to us to follow HIS way or a satanic advised way. Its mankind who selects the way and not God (swt) want him/her to do so.
Therefore there are rewards and/or punishments as a result of the deeds we do and it has already been told by God (swt) to us.

It does seem like a set up doesn't it? It's like putting a kid in a room and telling him not to touch one toy.

Ok...here you go Adam and Eve. I created this all for you now all you have to do is not touch the fruit on this tree here.

Of course they are gonna go for it. Free will......DUH!!
