I think so. Experiences that are negative like pain, defeat, been made fun of, laught at, etc. Actually help us in becoming better people, more mature and more humble and with greater respect for other people.

Since we have had bad experiences, we know how painful they feel and wouldn't want other to go through the pain, so we actually become better people and more sensative to others peoples feelings.

I think the bad experiences in my life have come from my own errors and I feel thankful that I have had a chance to experience the pain. I think I am a better person now than if I would have never felt any pain. Sorry about the rant.

Unfortunately it's because as humans we learn best through pain. It's hard to forget something that we've learned in adversity but much harder to remember something we learned when things were going well.

You don't always have to. You could steal or kill to get what you want, then you are only hurting other people not yourself. But then if you get caught...
