In my understanding, brimstone and fire preaching went out of the mainstream Church's any years ago. Where in the world have you heard about it.? I never met any one who was converted that way. Most people i know fell in love. With Jesus

Your question implies an oximoron. You can't be converted to the Love of Christ with brimstone and fire. If there is anyone who has let me see how strong his faith really is when he is facing real brimstone and fire. ;-)

It worked on me when I was 9, but I wasn't really feeling it...I was just scared by all the fire and pain through all eternity stuff. By the time I was 10, I was thinking "wait a minute...."

Oh God yes. Check out some Baptist tent revivals. I have a different belief. God doesn't want to scare us into salvation. He is a loving God
