Who else thinks that Atheist is not a good word to define us? I mean there aren't terms for people who Deny Astrology or Fairies or Ghosts. What would be a better term?
The Definition is "a person who denies or disbelieves the existence of a supreme being or beings." But I think people blow it way out of proportion.

compare jesus to hercules.

hercules was half-man, half-god (son of zeus).

hercules went through labors and suffering in his life for the benefit of others.

Isn't the story of jesus just a re-telling of a popular greek religious belief?

they both became immortal and joined thier "fathers" after death. both died as the result of mortal men and thier actions.

i have this sneaking suspicion that someone is wishing a friend of mine and myself ill will. i have an idea who it is but i have no proof and i'm not entirely sure but lately the sh** has really been piling on the both of us in an unusual amount and part of it has to do with the person i suspect. what stones could we use to absorb/repel the bad energy that's being sent at us?(or just in general if it's not someone's doing) thanks.

Or that we just want to be "sinful"? Or that we're just being rebellious? Have you ever considered how that sounds?

I have heard that meditation can help the mind quiet down and focus on a goal. I hope this is true because my mind is always going a mile a minute and I'm constantly afraid of screwing up. I'd like to meditate in a way that could help me become more focused and self-confident.

I consider myself a Buddhist, although I find it hard to practice. Whenever I meditate, it's no different for me than anything else I do in life -- in that I second-guess everything I do and can't stop wondering whether I'm doing something wrong.

I find it hard to get started in the first place. It's difficult for me to turn my mind "off." I'm an introverted guy, and I'm always over-thinking everything, even things that should be simple. This problem effects most areas of my life, including meditation.

Does anyone have any tips how I can stay focused on my meditation and use it as a tool to make myself a little more focused and motivated in my day-to-day life?

Anyone got any ideas for a non-religous .com? It will be a network for all those who are not deists, not just atheists. I welcome your suggestions.

I know most people judge the presence of a God simply by the fact that their prayers are not answered.

Tell us, how your prayers got answered. And be specific pls. Thank you

I have genuine love for everyone but I definitely do not like everyone. I feel bad when my dislike causes me not to speak to certain people. What is something that has helped to speak people you don't particularly like?

I'm trying really hard to believe in God. I've started to attend church with my boyfriend and his very Christian family. He told me about how Moses and other people lived to be hundreds of years old way back when. Personally, I find this hard to accept. Is it possible that what we consider a year and what they considered a year were two seperate time frames? I hope so, otherwise I don't know how I can accept it.

When I ask five questions here, I have an average total of 40 Christians telling me they'll pray for me.

It always makes me feel joyful to know that every single day that many people will kneel down besides their bed, saying stuff like "Dear God, will you please allow The Markster to see the light? He needs it sooooo much". It's so cute.

And I'm not the only one. No, no!! There is a long, long list of atheists that are being prayed for! Every single night!

I wonder how these Christians even have time left to do really useful stuff. Oh well. I was just wondering, how does it make you feel? As happy as it makes me feel ?

would he go toheaven or hell?

What I mean is say he was totally uneducated and his son comes back from the scity and the son (who isn't christian) says something like "Most people in the united states believe in a guy named Jesus as their way to heaven." Say he then dies the next day.

What is his fate?

He was not offered to God - he was sentanced to "death by crucifixion".

God describes his idea of human sacrifice in Genesis ch 22, Micah 6:7, Judges 11:31 - 39.

None of these descriptions of human sacrifice even resemble the crucifixion.

http://www.inxtec-security.com/Stalkers.htm

The final category of stalker is not lovelorn. He is the vengeful stalker. These stalkers become angry with their victims over some slight, real or imagined. Politicians, for example, get many of these types of stalkers who become angry over some piece of legislation or program the official sponsors. But, disgruntled ex-employees can also stalk, whether targeting their former bosses, co-workers or the entire company. Some of these angry stalkers are psychopaths, i.e. people without conscience or remorse. Some are delusional, (most often paranoid), and believe that they, in fact, are the victims. They all stalk to "get even."

How did the Watchtower know the number of places left for the 144,000 "anointed class" of believers when the organisation proper (i.e. Watchtower Bible & Tract Society) came into being ? Any documented evidence which can be referenced would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for all answers.

Muslims, Christians and Jews especially.

You seem to need religion so you can pass judgment on people.

While you sit their and lie, cheat and do all kinds of immoral things.

You aint fooling anyone you are just as bad as the nonbelievers only you do bad things even though you believe in god in a religious way.

you need religion to keep you from being extraordinarily bad humans don't you!?

I am glad you believe in god in a religious way and that if you do really bad things you think you will go to hell and that you are good only because you think you will be rewarded with heaven.
