No. What would be a good thing is if people of all faiths were taught by their leaders to be tolerant. I'm a muslim and I can admit that many christian preachers are very peaceful people and preach tolerance. I can't say the same for most Imams, though, because some of them really are hateful. Not all by far, but you have your nutcases here and there. If the leaders were forced to go through a tolerance screeening and were honestly looking for the betterment of all people, not just themselves, everyone really could co exist peacefully.

I hope so its 2014 , people are more educated now and allowed to make their own decisions so theres no excuse for people to believe in such silly nonsense. People should appreciate the miracle of nature. Man made god in his own image. We must really think we r special to believe another human being could make this universe and all that's in it. Lol. Then again religion is a money making scheme. Look at all the people benefiting from religion that would be without jobs, they will try and prolong religion for as long as possible and there will always ve the extremist ( muslims ) who want to take over the world. I would love to see an end to all religion. It has been the cause of most wars and most deaths on this planet. Evil people hide behind religion and get away with it.

I see this question has an atheistic bias.
Are we failing to make distinctions between fundamentalism/ extremism and authentic core Christian teaching as C.S. Lewis talked about in his book Mere Christianity? As a Christian, I'm against extremists too.
Personally, I think it would be a bad thing if true Christianity were to die out since it affirms the truth and goodness of God and the truth of the goodness of the human person, a person that is not just physical, but spiritual as well, a person who is body and soul and not a body possessing a soul or a soul possessing a body.
Good thing it's not dying out. God is glorified in his saints (and I do mean those who are holy not just the ones who wear the name Christian).

Many people believe religion isn't needed, and only hinders rational thought. We can look at various countries and their level of atheism and see how better health, education, less crime correlate positively.
Europe hovers around 40-50% atheist, US is 9-13%, and many third world countries in Africa are totally religious. Which place would you go to for better education, less crime, etc?
It's inevitable as people become more intelligent and rational. This won't be the first time we leave behind primitive beliefs. People will study christianity in the same class that teaches stories about the greek gods. It'll be all considered mere mythology.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it is dying. it is changing however. If they got rid of their imaginary man in the sky and stopped following that fairy tale book and just followed the simple doctrine. Love one another. Maybe I would join. But until they join the 21st century, they will remain lost and slowly falling behind until they are just a faint footnote in the book of time.

christianity is not dying out. the main problem has been that it has been institutionalized. if we cut to the core of what jesus said and did, the world would be a different place. it says that if we have the faith of a mustard seed, we could move mountains, literally. we have the same potential as jesus, we just dont believe. just as the buddha taught, it is our overcoming the world by overcoming ourselves that is the key.

As long as young people are educated to a standardised curriculum, it's likely that a fiar sized percentage of them will continue to shed their religion.
I most cases it is proven that education causes a lack of faith in religion.

Preventing Evangelists going to gullible countries - South America, Africa , Asia, etc, would help greatly. Christianity always avoids education, science, and free thought; in third world economies it finds vulnerable converts.

I think you should broaden your terms of reference to include all religions, and yes, all religion is dying out. of course, we need to replace it with common sense, and not have other hokus pokus substituted in its stead.
