Actually, it's closer to Persian mythology. About 100-50 years before Jesus was "born", the Jews and the Persians were in very close relations. Persia had put the Jews back into their native lands, even though they had been conqured, and Persia had a very detailed mythology about how a King of Kings would be born that would lead the good people of the world against the demons of the world in a righteous battle, the world would end, and everyone would end up in paradise. Less than a century later, the Jews had picked up on the story and made it their own. The stories are basically identical except for the names of the characters.

Believe or not believe, the choice is yours. With the statement you made it sounds as if you are tottering on the assumption that it could be true! You are thinking about it, right? Each man/woman charts his/her own course knowing or not knowing the end of the matter. Religion is here to stay no matter what the people say. Debating about it will not make it go away! There is no end to opinions and books being wrote about it. It's all wearisome. Be settled in your own spirit whether Jesus is a myth or a true prophet of God that walked the earth. I'd rather be on the safe side of doing right and serving something good than to be on the loosing side that benefits no one but self and at the end of life still have no answers because you're not satisfied. I'd rather have Jesus than to be uncertain about anything! Are you certain-ed about anything? We are creatures of faith of not knowing the future or even about tomorrow or the next minute. We don't even know the past because we weren't there. We only have assumptions. Whose to say this did not occur? It has been said that history repeats itself and Jesus said He'll be back, so I am looking to see. Even if I die before the event occur, I would have been looking for Him! A dead person can't come back and tell you what is about to happen to your spirit from transitioning from this life to the next (if there is any). We can't even hold our spirit back from departing this life! We can make our plans but the ultimate is up to the Master Planner.

No. For one thing, Hercules was an idiot with a bad temper. Few of his "labors" actually helped anyone (changing the course of a river would have an drastically negative effect on the local environment, health, and economy). Hercules never performed miracles like healing the sick, feeding 5000 people with just a small amount of fish and bread, walking on water, or (and here's the biggie) having risen from the dead. Hercules never offered the free gift of eternal salvation to those who would accept him. Hercules was the son of a greek god, Jesus was the son of THE ONE TRUE GOD.
Also, Jesus never slew his own children (he didn't have any) or for that matter, any children.

Yea, yea, yea, Sure, sure, sure.
Hercules was described as a 'myth' in 'Greek Mythology' and was described as a half-man/half-god, as you wrote.
Jesus was/is the Son of God, or God-- part of the Holy Trinity, according to the Bible.
Hercules never performed miracles: never died. Yes it was written that he did many he-man tasks, but so did Bluto and all other stevedores.
He was described as being immortal, or a just plain, ordinary diety.
Jesus' human form died.
Hercules' birth has never been described.
Jesus' birth was described in the Bible.
That was a good reach though.

Study every religious book, they have so much in common, right and wrong, diff version of god, then the stuff the temple or the church (people) add to it. This would be why I dont follow anything, I was very curious as a kid, and the questions I asked no one could answer...so I studied all of them and realized none of them can prove god exists , its sheer faith. However all human beings are capable of being god fearing and looking at every religion and knowing that we know what is right and what is wrong, and we should live by that. And if you want to argue which book came first well...there is sciientific evidence on all sides and every religion backs its own ofcourse. Religious books too have been duplicated like crazy...funny thing is only the Koran hasnt been but then the utter repression of women makes me think men wrote the book.
Yea imagine me at 8 questioning the ways of hinduism, everyone was freaked out by me lol I wasnt just going to follow what they told me. Lucky for me my mom encouraged my independence

I'll answer it this way. Say to yourself that "Jesus is just a re-telling of a popular greek religious belief" Really, do it. Then when you are awake at 0300 in the morning and you are staring at the ceiling or when you are in danger and your heart is saying. Hercules is bullshit God help me. Then you may find the truth

The christian cult is a rip off of more than just the Greeks. It also copies the Egyptians (Osiris), Persians (Mithras), Hindus (Krishna), Buddhists, and a dozen others.

Definitely an amalgam of Greek gods/heroes. The stories were altered and revised to appeal to a Greek / Roman audience to gain credence. Xians are generally ignorant and cannot see the obvious similarities.

No Jesus was an Historical Person. Every aspect of His Life that is Known to us is also reported by the Historian Josephus. We also have the eye witness of His Apostles, and Reports of The Roman Leaders of the Time.
