I know I am inspiring hatred towards myself however if you read my other question on romance and laws of physics you will understand why is it very hard to let go of the things you get used to even if you know they are wrong.

Let me get going with mistakes in Quran part 3.

Sun-set and Sun-rise
Koran teaches us that the Sun sets in a muddy spring:
Quran 18: 86 Till, when he (the traveller Zul-qarnain) reached the setting-place of the Sun, he found it going down into a muddy spring…
Quran 18: 90 Till, when he reached the rising-place of the Sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had appointed no shelter from it.
Serious scientific errors here! Firstly, it is scientifically accepted fact that, the Sun never go down in a muddy spring. Secondly, this seems to presuppose a FLAT Earth, otherwise how can there be an extreme point in the West or in the East? A sunrise there would be basically just the same as at any other place on this earth, at land or sea. It would still look as if it is setting “far away”. It does say, that he reached THE PLACE where the Sun sets and in his second Journey the place where it rises.
A resting place for Sun!?
Quran 36: 38 And the sun runneth on unto a resting place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise.
Quran 36: 39 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm leaf.
Quran 36: 40 It is not for Sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.
Allah is indeed a big scientist. Where is sun and where is moon situated? Can anybody tell me how they could collide/meet/overtake each other? Are the sun and the moon neighbors to each other? I have the answer for this error: Ancient Allah saw (bare eye observations) sun and moon traveling from east to west seemingly in the same Sky area or same path, without colliding, causing day and night etc. Allah hardly could imagine that all these phenomena are simply due to Earth’s rotation and NOT by Sun’s rotation. Sun is stationary for Earth, because earth is stuck in the sun’s Gravity, like we are stuck in earth’s gravity. Allah never says any where in the whole Quran that, EARTH ROTATES. Perhaps Allah could not feel earth’s rotation.
A resting place for sun WAS CONFIRMED BY HADITHS?
Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421
Sahih Bukhari Hadiths: Abzur Ghifari (ra) narrated: one day Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) asked me, “Abzar do you know after setting where does Sun go?” I replied, I do not know, only Allah’s apostle can say better. Then Prophet (SA) replied, “After setting, the sun remains prostrated under Allah’s Aro’sh and waits for Allah’s command for rising again in the East. Day will come when sun will not get permission to rise again and Qeyamot will fall upon Earth”.
Can anybody tell me what is it? It was the superstitious belief of ancient people reflected in the Quran and Hadiths by Allah. A 10-year-old boy would not tell such fairy tale story today.

Many similar discrepancies can also be found in the Bible which leads to the realization that people back then had no idea what they were seeing and interpreted anything of a scale incomprehensible to them as an act of god.
These simple minds are what built the foundation on today's religions...

1. The sun setting in water just is a simple metaphor. You can see this in effect even today. Japan is called the land of the rising sun. Because the Qur'an was written in the Middle East, far east and far west make sense. America is called the West and China is called East/Far East to this day.

2. Where does it say anything about colliding? It just says they have a fixed time period, the sun isn't going to move faster than the moons and nor is the moon going to move faster than the sun. The sun is stationary for the earth, but it itself is not. The whole solar system is moving.

3. The hadith is meant to show the fact that the sun, like all other creations of Allah is under His command. There are a lot of metaphorical hadith, it just takes common sense to know which one should be taken literally and which one shouldn't.

Btw, the hadith are not from Allah, the Qur'an is. The hadith were collected by men many years after the death of the Prophet and its possible that they may be wrong.

The first example you used for the muddy spring is getting old now. The verse clearly says: 'he saw the sun' therefore is making reference to what the man saw.

Same goes for the second one.

Third verse is still figurative language and everything after the third verse is basically saying: God controls these things.

God controls the way the sun and the moon do not meet.

God controls the way they set and the way they rise.

And when God wishes, the sun will not rise again.

Simple as that.

Edit: "Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? (The Noble Quran, 21:30)"

you spent too much effort on this but, for nothing.
When somebody said
"I saw sun got down on the mountain and darkness began"
Do you understand this as the sun SUNK in the mountain?
Same;
The sun got down in mud means , Zulkarneyn saw the sun got down and disappeared in a hot & muddy lake or sea. It didnt actually sunk down in mud , but it seemed to be.
***
And about the ROTATION;
do you know it is a scientific fact that sun rotates on its axis and has a resonance
QURAN IS A MIRACLE telling this scientific fact 1400 years ago!!!
I hope your eyes will open and see the facts...
thanks for reminding me these immortal facts

have a nice day

Dear brother,

Please watch The Qu'ran and The Bible in Light of Modern science, Dr. Zakir Naik addresses and explains this and many other things.
You can find it on youtube

There are no mistakes in the Qu'ran its just you didn't understand it, since you are using Marmaduke Pickthalls translation which isn't the greatest. If you are going to read then please using M. Khan translation "The Noble Qu'ran"

Here is the explanation from the Classical Scholar Ibn Kathir

His traveling and reaching the Place where the Sun sets (the West)

(So he followed a way.) Ibn `Abbas said that he followed different routes to achieve what he wanted.

(So he followed a way.) Mujahid said that he followed different routes, east and west. According to one report narrated from Mujahid, he said:

(a way) means, "A route through the land.'' Qatadah said, "It means he followed the routes and landmarks of the earth.''

(Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun,) means, he followed a route until he reached the furthest point that could be reached in the direction of the sun's setting, which is the west of the earth. As for the idea of his reaching the place in the sky where the sun sets, this is something impossible, and the tales told by storytellers that he traveled so far to the west that the sun set behind him are not true at all. Most of these stories come from the myths of the People of the Book and the fabrications and lies of their heretics.

(he found it setting in a spring of Hami'ah) meaning, he saw the sun as if it were setting in the ocean. This is something which everyone who goes to the coast can see: it looks as if the sun is setting into the sea but in fact it never leaves its path in which it is fixed. Hami'ah is, according to one of the two views, derived from the word Hama'ah, which means mud. This is like the Ayah:

("I am going to create a man (Adam) from dried clay of altered Hama'h (mud)) [15:28], which means smooth mud, as we have discussed above.

(And he found near it a people.) meaning a nation. They mentioned that they were a great nation from among the sons of Adam.

(We (Allah) said (by inspiration): "O Dhul-Qarnayn! Either you punish them or treat them with kindness'') means, Allah gave him power over them and gave him the choice: if he wanted to, he could kill the men and take the women and children captive, or if he wanted to, he could set them free, with or without a ransom. His justice and faith became apparent in the ruling he pronounced:

(As for him who does wrong,) meaning who persists in his Kufr and in associating others in worship with his Lord,

(we shall punish him,) Qatadah said, i.e., by killing him.

(and then he will be brought back unto his Lord, Who will punish him with a terrible torment.) meaning a severe, far-reaching and painful punishment. This implies a confirmation of the Hereafter and the reward and punishment.

(But as for him who believes), meaning `who follows us in our call to worship Allah Alone with no partner or associate,'

(he shall have the best reward,) meaning in the Hereafter, with Allah.

(and we (Dhul-Qarnayn) shall speak unto him mild words.) Mujahid said, `(words of) kindness.'

As for the other ayah which you did not understand properly
read it if you care to understand

the reason for why some disbelievers don't understand the Quran verse as the person above me says "blah blah blah" that's because God has said:

[46] And We have put coverings over their hearts lest they should understand it (the Qur'ân), and in their ears deafness. And when you make mention of your Lord Alone (Lâ ilâha illallâh (none has the right to be worshipped but Allâh) Islâmic Monotheism in the Qur'ân, they turn on their backs, fleeing in extreme dislike.
Quran 17:46

this Quran is truly a miracle. it has codes and it has secrets. it's for those who believes. those who believe see the true light comes out from this book.

The biggest mistake in the Quran is that it denies Jesus Christ or rather Yahushua as your Lord and saviour.
