The devil fights harder in the bible belt to cause Gods children to stumble than in areas where he pretty much already dominates. The fact is that evil exists right beside godliness. A church can be having a mighty move of God and the people doing the best they can to live Godly lives, and across the street a mass murder take place. When the news gets out about the mass murders , you don't hear of the lives being changed at the church and the people being fed and the fine people going to the church, you only hear of the evil.

Your question is a judgmental cop out to begin with and lacks a true understanding of the description of a Christian. You have no statistics to back up your accusation that the Bible belt has the most crime and are inferring that Christians or Bible teachings are somehow responsible for such? Children often rebel against their teachings. It's the sin nature coming to the forefront.
The fact is, when people of any culture or geographic location or generation come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, they quit lying, stealing, cussing, doing violence, drugs, drinking, cheating on spouses, cheating in business, but they are completely changed creatures in Christ Jesus. Therefore, it is a true statement to say Christians do not commit crimes.
Christians may make mistakes and have to ask forgiveness and make restitution, including for things they did in their past so that they can go forward and live victorious lives. Matthew the tax collector returned what he cheated people "fourfold" what he had wrongfully exacted. True Christians have a clear conscience. Learn to know the difference between good and evil. Many cities have benefited from lower crime rates when real Holy Ghost revivals came to town.
As for judging, discernment is judging. That means to form an opinion. God is the author of righteous judgment. That's why God Himself created the punishment for the first murderer. He said "...the voicethy brother's blood crieth to me from the ground." You see, God sees when the sparrow falls. He also gives us eyes and ears and the guidance of the spirit and the Word of God to know when a person is living righteous or wicked and sometimes will reveal things that nobody knows except the spirit knows. Ultimately, you can't do wrong and get by and when the righteous rule (righteous laws protecting the fatherless, widow, unborn, poor, strangers, afflicted, etc.) the people rejoice. It is the Christian's duty to seek the gift of discernment so we can make wise choices and so the overseers may protect the flock of God from false doctrines of devils. It is not the sinner's duty to sit in the seat of the scornful judging those who have been justified by the blood of Jesus Christ and are walking upright before Him. We are to judge those things pertaining to us, the believers and keep them out of public courts if at all possible and to follow peace with all men, to be harmless as doves, wise as

Can you please cite specific statistics from a reliable source to support your presupposition of The bible belt having the most crime. By the way Washington DC is not part of the so-called Bible belt. Your question is "loaded", just say what you mean: You don't like Christians because someone who was a Christian hurt your feelings. See I proved you're point, Christians are mean.

It's nice that you insist on not being judged when you are doing some judging of your own.But isn't that how it tends to be, people not wanting to be judged by the same standards they have set for others?

To answer your question, people are flawed and so then becomes their interpretation of things. So if their interpretation of the Bible and it's teachings are warped, then that is a problem with the people and not the religion.

Could you back up that statement? I mean the Bible Belt compared to New York or Los Angeles? I really doubt that your statement is accurate.
I remember in a "Bible belt" style town in Canada, I was hitchhiking through there at 2:00 am, and was surprised to see that some stores left their wares out on the sidewalk overnight!!!!

Christianity like other beliefs have those that practice it and those that don't. Besides who says that the bible belt has any more crime than any other section of the country?

I would have thought the large cities would have been the areas with the most crime. However, those who are Christian should live a life pleasing to God - but since we are human, sometimes we fail.

Well here is the thing unless you cite some sort of proof to back that claim it is just an opinion. So I will answer your question on the basis that it is an opinion and not a fact, understand?

I think it is because the fact is most Christians tend to ignore social problems any more and focus more on questions and problems of rhetoric that matter to the philosopers of the world and not to the average joe wandering the street.

You;ll get plenty or response from the area but the old saying is, "Don't judge Christ by Christians" I also don't believe they have the highest crime rate. Crime does not correlate directly to religion. Factors like poverty, lack of education, and lack of opportunity would be better indicators for crime than number of locals attending church.

You know I always wonder that myself. I was born and raised in the bronx. I could come home from school lay my bike on my porch go down to the corner store and my bike would still be there. I moved to Central FL 3 1/2 yrs ago brought a brand new bike chained it up at the bike rack and someone stole it. And I live a supposedly good area. Go Figure!
