I like to hear from Catholics only please. I'm well aware of the Protestant view, so I'll pass on that.

Was just wondering if any Christians here question anything in the bible if so what? Or do you assume/know everything is true. When I read it, I questions it all the time. Somethings seem like an old wise tale passed down. I've been told its wrong to even question it. Then again I've been told its not. Myself I can't accept an answer that God is all powerful and thats the reason it can happen. When I'm told that, its seems a way for people to avoid the question. Also why has the bible been revised so many times? Shouldn't one be enough? If its the word of God it should not be changed except for translation, even then it should be as close of a translation as possible. Just few questions I've had since I'm bored :-)

Im told that "Hell" is cold because its so far from Gods warmth, Im told Hell is on fire so that sinners can burn, im told that Hell is black because it doesn't possess the light that God created, etc.

Am I gonna get Bar-B-Qued by some red scaley midgets with pitchforks, viper gaited tails, and goat horns? Whats your take on it?

I'm not trying to stir anything up, and I'm not trying to bash anyone, but does homosexuality make sense to any belief? Even if you do not believe it is wrong religiously, as animals we still can't reproduce that way, which is what the only other reason besides religion I can think of. I'm not trying to come up with something that stumps people, just so they get mad; I really want to hear answers.

Dont worry, I no doubt dont have a fantastic way of explaining it either. I only ask to get a feel of what christians think when they hear those words used.

When you look around at all the wonders of life, isn't it wonderful to know that Zeus created everything and fills our lives with love and joy?

How do you praise Zeus? (I praise him each morning with song and dance.)

or "honoring" has been the synonym of "worshipping" before anyone knew it?

because as far as i have heard and observed, Catholics are being accused of "worshipping" the Virgin Mary and the Saints whenever Catholics explain that they just give due respect and honor for them. is it possible that they understand "honoring" to be the same as "worshipping"? if so, then when God say, "honor thy father and thy mother" does that mean, "worship thy mother and thy father"?

note: there's no reason to resort to insult for christians. i simply want to know, how the word "honoring" is being understood by so many.

I just realized something...

We've already acknowledged that Adam and Eve's kids were all incestual, but the same applies to every creature on earth because of the Ark! Every animal had to create two offspring to reproduce... all animals are incestual then, right?

What did all of the carnivores eat after leaving the Ark? (This is not a question about what they ate on the Ark.) In other words, explain how the food chain worked before the present ratios of a few predators to many prey.

Explain how a viable population was established for all of those animal kinds from only a single pair of each (keep in mind genetic bottlenecking).

Thanks everyone. Check back for more tomorrow.

I am going through a hard custody battle right now for my 3 kids. My ex husband is trying to take them from me even though he has never been there for them and I have all along. And his family has a lot of money and influence. Please pray for their protection and for Gods will to be done. Thank you and God Bless!

like worshipping the Virgin Mary and the Saints...

Catholics have been explaining what they REALLY do believe in, and it's very much opposite of what they are being accused of believing, but why does it seem like those people can't hear or read anything, except their own thoughts and opinions?

1) We are the product of naturalistic (atheistic)
evolution.
2) Naturalistic evolution states that our cognitive
features produce beliefs aimed a biological fitness.
3) Beliefs aimed at biological fitness do not
necessarily need to be true.
4) Thus, belief (1) is not necessarily true.

If this argument is sound, does it mean naturalism is irrational?

i know this is one of the central issues put forth on the R/S section, but i am asking now for tonights concensus....

As a christian, do you believe that people that are genuinely good, whether your a christian, jew, skeptic, etc. go to heaven, or is it pretty clear-cut: don't believe in christianity itself then you are in hell forever?

feel free to elaborate your theological supposition.
