like worshipping the Virgin Mary and the Saints...

Catholics have been explaining what they REALLY do believe in, and it's very much opposite of what they are being accused of believing, but why does it seem like those people can't hear or read anything, except their own thoughts and opinions?

just because some cradle-Catholics, who don't know the Church's doctrines, turned their backs on the Church doesn't mean that the Church is false.

Protestants being thus impious enough to make liars of Jesus Christ, of the Holy Ghost, and of the Apostles, need we wonder if they continually slander Catholics, telling and believing worse absurdities about them than the heathens did? What is more absurd than to preach that Catholics worship stocks and stones for gods; set up pictures of Jesus Christ, of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and other saints, to pray to them, and put their confidence in them; that they adore a god of bread and wine; that their sins are forgiven by the priest, without repentance and amendment of life; that the pope or any other person can give leave to commit sin, or that for a sum of money the forgiveness of sins can be obtained ? To these and similar absurdities and slanders, we simply answer: "Cursed is he who believes in such absurdities and falsehoods, with which Protestants impiously charge the children of the Catholic Church. All those grievous transgressions are another source of their reprobation."

"But what faith can we learn from these false teachers when, in consequence of separating from the Church, they have no rule of faith? ... How often Calvin changed his opinions! And, during his life, Luther was constantly contradicting himself: on the single article of the Eucharist, he fell into thirty-three contradictions! A single contradiction is enough to show that they did not have the Spirit of God. "He cannot deny Himself" (II Timothy 2:13). In a word, take away the authority of the Church, and neither Divine Revelation nor natural reason itself is of any use, for each of them may be interpreted by every individual according to his own caprice ... Do they not see that from this accursed liberty of conscience has arisen the immense variety of heretical and atheistic sects? ... I repeat: if you take away obedience to the Church, there is no error which will not be embraced.

I spent the first five years living in a catholic convent and was raised by nuns until my mother was able to take me home. I grew up in the Catholic Church. I even prayed to Mary and some of the Saints, like St. Christopher when we traveled. I fell away from the church as a teenager and later when I was twenty four had an encounter with Jesus that changed my life forever and my family acted like I had joined a cult. The priest at my family's church tried to convince me that being Born-Again was just a passing fad and refused my request to be baptized(fully immersed in water) because I had been baptized INTO the church as an infant and didn't need to be baptized again. Then I was disowned by my parents when I refused to have my children baptized into the Catholic church and instead had them formally dedicated to God in a Christian church. I also have many friends who are born-again Catholics who have chosen to remain in the church as a witness to the others. I have no ill feelings toward catholics but I feel that many are led by the traditions and church doctrines instead of by Christ.

I was raised Catholic and went through all the communions and such, and I even have a Catholic family who is still in practice, although some of the members are starting to take a second look, and yes they do use idolatry in the church. Look at this website and see for yourself. This website might not be the greatest, but it shows alot of truth. When you get to this website, click on "false religions" and go from there.

The website may not be the only truth, but experience is!

Esther who answered on here is correct! Reason why I left the Catholics behind and became a born again Christian.

for starters not everyone thinks the way that you are making them out to be. also there are far to many catholics that are being to vocal in their own opinions and using their podiums to make long drawn out speeches about what We should do to try to save ourselves it's rather old. Besides the fact that they are sitting there condemning everyone and everything that is not JUST LIKE THEM. christianity claims to be a monotheism it ain't people were praying to GOD and to Jesus when he was a live, making the sign of the cross states father son and holy spirit that makes it a triad plus praying to a saint in a time of need makes it a polytheism. plus the fact that the bible has so many conflicting statements in it and the fact that over time it has been CENSORED to make more appealing to the people in charge, other wise the nostics (i know thats spelled wrong) would have been left in from day 1. And also to answer your second question praying to someone is worshiping them and putting them as high as a God.

But Catholics do pray to the Virgin Mary and other Saints... So not accusing Catholics for doing this, just observing them doing this ....So I am not sure what you are really asking.

I do not know what exactly the catholics do when it comes to worshipping yet, so I can't accuse anyone of anything.

But if you would like to explain to me exactly what a catholic does as far as worship goes, it would be greatly appriciated.

Hon, you need to stop trying to defend traditions that are of man, and not of God. Please get out your bible and read it; it says there is only one mediator between God and man, and that is Jesus Christ.

Now...if you are wrong in this one point, and the Catholic church has been teaching you differently, how many more things do you think God's word has to say to you, in correction of what you have been told by "men"?
