It's because they don't read the Bible.
(Matthew 6:7) Jesus said, "And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words."

What is the rationale of praying any prayer Jesus did not teach? The only prayer Jesus taught us is the Lord's Prayer, which is in the Rosary. Is the Lord's Prayer the only prayer you pray? The Bible tells us to "pray constantly" (1Thes.5:17). Catholics are usually accused of "vain repetition", and now there is a problem if we DON'T pray just the Lord's Prayer over and over? Man, talk about damned if you do, damned if you don't! Catholics can't do anything right, I guess.

Recite as you please . Jesus isn't returning from the dead to hold anyones hand . Life goes on and you can decide for your self what you like or what comforts you although I don't believe in such it's a free choice one of so few and will defend it in spite of obvious conflicts in my own beliefs. Did Jesus tell you ask ?
peace out

To me it is like your daddy gets me and starts to shoot me and I say to you.. help me. I ask Mother Mary to pray to Jesus for me..I also ask you to pray for me.. According to legend Jesus died a terrible death for us.. And I believe that and I appreciate that. so I thank him..Also if God created the heavens and the earth,(and I do believe he did) What I pray for is not a major project for him so I ask for an after life full of goodies. I have the time to pray and I like to pray, and I like to believe when I die I'll be rewarded for that. I give money to the church,I give money to homeless people, I do things for people. I really like me..

Jesus didn't invent the internet either. Why are you using it to post religion questions?
