"what goes around comes around"

Karma is everything returns to it's source. Karma literally means action, every cause has an effect, just as every action has an equal reaction. If you throw a rock into the sky you know there is a force which will bring that rock hurdling back at you. Karma can be seen as a force which returns all things to their origination, or it is the movement of consciousness by the laws to find resolution, balance within. Since everything returns to its source and it can be said that the law of this universe is generally all opposites invoke their paradox, through action we invoke the movement of consciousness which provides us with an reaction and opportunity to maintain balance within.

From a higher prospective, Karma is development. Karma is a universal law, look at anything in this world or any laws of this world it is easy to see. Good work pays off, bad work doesn't. You kill a man, often times you are killed yourself. Kindness for kindness, evil for evil...

Sure, it is the basic principle that whatever energy you put out into the world, it is guaranteed to come back and hit you in the ass. If you really want to get philosophical on it, then the opposite of Karma would be dharma, this is a buddhist and hindu belief, but it has also worked its way into other mainstream religions, usually to do with the new age.

And really, every religion that uses the idea of Karma (in which most religions do) has their own belief about it.
Christians-"You reap what you sew"
Wiccans/Paganists-"An it harm none, do what ye will;" "Any energy you send out will come back to you 3 times over.

And so on and so fourth...Hope this helps you out!

Karma is blind. You do something nice, somebody else gets a reward. You do something bad, somebody else gets a kick in the pants. What goes around comes around but not necessarily back to you. Karma is a force, like love, like collective consciousness, like fear, like all the intangible things that weave in and out of the moment worldwide, and Karma flows with it. In the aggregate, if many, many people do good things, good will blossom in many places. And vice-versa with many people doing bad things. My sense is that there are many people doing bad things and not enough good. Bad Karma.

Karma can come back to the guy /girl who acts badly unconsciously to someone and wont even care and forgets what he did, then this one ll have a bad situation and he ll wonder why does it happen to him/her.It ll be karma .But if someone acts badly not intentionally and then realizes what he/she did was bad ,if he prays fervently God to repair and be forgiven, the karma will not get into action for him /her.But the person will have to go to the person to apologize and repair the prejudice he caused to the people. I know someone who was really mean to me always yelling to me, she WAS my lawyer,I lose a case, because she didnt do good enough because she didnt believe in it , she even told me it was normal, i had to give 6000euros it was awful for me but with God at my side I got all kinds of good things happening to me, extraordinary ,i got super roomates to help then to pay things et...free time in the alps in usa , a MIRACLE CREATED BY GOD, guess, I met this lawyer in her office because she pretented to do something for me, I couldnt believe it, she gained 25kilos, I couldnt believe it. When I saw her, I knew she got the karma...lately I got her again on the phone, she was awfully mean again, I knew I had to get away from her , our ways are separated now, she is in hell...and guess what i m not feeling sorry at all for her... I have a great heart , for real poor ones but not for someone who behaves as a ***** and then becomes a witch... so when you re not asking GOD to forgive you, people got back their shits so strongly in the face , that you know that GOD did the justice. We should never doubt that God ll give us the divine justice.

I'm not so sure that Karma works: When I drive I do my best to keep well out of the way / ahead of anyone behind me. But the people in front of me don't keep out of my way. :(

karma is a hindu concept. it is the law of causes and effects. it is a very logical law, 'we reap what we sew, if not in this life it will be in another. karma in sanskrit means action.

Do something bad in this life, get repaid for it in the next life. Maybe something as simple as being reincarnated as a bug instead of a person or even up to murdering someone in this life and getting murdered in the next.

What you give out, comes back. So if you "do unto others as you would like them to do unto you", then hopefully you are nice and respectful so that comes back to you. If you are a nasty b-itch, then be prepared to get that back. It's natures balancing act.
