I consider myself somewhat an agnostic, somewhat an atheist. I don't believe in the concept of a Higher Power, but I don't see that as an absolute truth.

I embrace 'not knowing' as an answer to many things. For a lot of subject "I don't know" is truly the most honest answer.

But I was wondering, and this question is mainly directed to people who call themselves agnostic I guess, where does agnosticism end?

Are you an agnostic when it comes to unicorns? Or the FSM? To Mithras? Or mainly when the subject is the Biblical God ?

Why would I be offended by you denying your obvous sexual preffrences, Karl?

And I do have beliefs, Karl. I have thought long and hard about them and have a much closer relationship with God than I've known any Christian to. However, I realize that I'm human and as a human, I'm probably wrong, just like everyone else.

The difference is, I don't want to pollute everyone else's mind with my crap just to feel justified in my faith.

Unlike yourself, I don't need people to agree with me.

I think I know what the woman, the dragon, the beast and the harlot are. But I think there are many depths to this amazing book, and that they are like pieces of a puzzle. I think there is a political view and then deeper levels of interpretation, more spiritual ones. I"d like to hear anyone elses views on Revelations and please don't cut and paste a web site's view or your churches or someone elses teachings on the subject. I want personal views. Thanks.

Those of us who look at the Religion category just suffered through hundreds of people asking if Jesus was really born on December 25th, why we celebrate Christmas on the 25th, etc. etc.

Easter jumps all over the (springtime) calendar, from early March to late April. No one cares. Easter is more important and more rare; everyone on earth was born at least once, but only one man ever died for all of Mankind's sins and was raised from the dead.

So, why don't people get upset that we don't celebrate Easter on the "exact" date?

Are Christians being blamed for all those ex-Christians who were born Christian and went New-Age when they failed to implement the goals of the New Age ? Like Hitler, Jim Jones, etc ? (Jim Jones was actually listed on the New Age spiritual community guide and quietly removed after the mass suicide of his followers and branded a Christian fundamentalist)

Hitler followed Blavatsky's "The Secret Doctrine" on the Aryan race theory.

New Age "Bibles" (books studied and meticulously applied) include:

'Reappearance of the Christ and the Masters of Wisdom' (Creme),
'Externalisation of the Hierarchy' (Bailey) [containing 'The Plan for the New World Order'],
'The Rays and the Initiations' (Bailey) [defining the problem of the Jews and orthodox religion],
'The Secret Doctrine' (Blavatsky) [the Aryan race theory],
'Revelation: the Birth of a New Age' (Spangler) [describing the 'Luciferic initiation' as a NA requirement],
'The Open Conspiracy, Blueprints for a World Revolution' (Wells),
'The Critical Path' (Fuller) [plans for undermining orthodox religions by use of computers],
'The Armageddon Script' (LeMesurier) [plans to stage a "second coming of Christ" to satisfy Christian expectations].

It hurts man, because even though we're not dating. We just get together, it hurts because I would at least like to know why she doesn't want to tell me about why she doesn't want to hang around anymore. I called her and no response, I called her again and her roommate answers the phone. Telling me some B.S. about she'll call me later she has some things to take care of. I just want to know why, and I'll be fine with whatever the outcome. Should I demand that she tell me what's up?

The boy and the science teachers pt.II
One day a scientist was saying that there was no God.
A boy stood up with tears in his eyes saying "Why would you say that?"
The teacher said "because It is right!"
The boy shouted at the teacher with fury "The Bible was written a thousand years before you were born. You can not refute it!"
The teacher said nervously "well that dosen't prove it."
The boy said "no but, Jesus does."
The teacher was speechless.
John 3:16
GOD BLESS!

Atheists, there's no scientific backing for what you believe. Get over it.

Christians, your God is a monster and an affront to the God of anyone who is rational.

Agnostic - a person who holds that the existence of the ultimate cause, as God, and the essential nature of things are unknown and unknowable, or that human knowledge is limited to experience.

By this deffintion, I am not agnostic. Though, scientificly, it's the most logical set of beliefs.

However, I am sure I will be put in that category.. so I just want to let you know, on behalf of Agnostics, we're glad you're all so bent out of shape about it. I also think it's hysterical that supposedly anti-homosexual Christians relate everything to testicles and penises. Actually, the God the Bible talks about seems to pretty obsessed with male genitalia too...

When I asked about the meaning of this passage from the old testament this Christian told me that it was symbolic of Jesus love for us and thats what it was all about. HOW THE HELL can a deeply sexual and explicit poem containg clear sex, and oral sex, in her mothers bed room and in the orchard be symbolic of Jesus love? and if it IS hell I need a new religion!

Such thoughts terrify me. If I don't believe in Jesus, Jesus is not amused; and it matters not how good or sweet I am, I go to Hell. My understanding is that Hell's torment continues unabated night and day, and in every alley and alcove hideous shrieks pervade the putrid air; and horrid gargling sounds, hideous moans can be heard coming from every doorway. This is the fate that awaits even good people if they belong to a religion whose God is not Jesus.

This is because the one thing in the entire univers that disamuses Jesus is if somebody doesn't believe he is the greatest.

My question is this: Why?
