if there is no God, why do you care?

Neither.

Atheists make a lot of noise, particularly on the net, and occasionally in court. I suspect that more than a few atheists are only attracted to atheisim because they see it as a way to persuade themselves they are "smarter' than all the people that believe. (Though these "smart" atheists never seem to have read Thomas Aquinas, or C.S. Lewis, or St. Augustine.)

However, in the real world, atheists aren't very influental or important. Atheists make up a trivial (albeit noisy) fraction of the population.

That is especially true in the Western nations, in North America Christians outnumber atheists something like 200 to 1. (Most of the worlds atheists are in formerly Communist countries like China and Russia.)

So when it comes to Christianity, what the atheists do or don't do is pretty irrelevant. Your question is sort of like asking "Will a positive image for flounders hurt or help the USS Nimitz?"

Christianity has been here for over 2,000 years. It has survived the Gnostics, the Romans, The Goths, The Vandals, Attila the Hun, The Moors, The Fall of Alexandrea and Jerusalem, The Dark Ages, The Black Plague, The Vikings, The Saracens, The Mongols, The Fall of Constantinople, The Reformation, The 30 Years War, The destruction of the Japanese Church, Voltare, Rousseau, The French Revolution, Napoleon, Marx, The First World War, The Russian Revolution, Lennin, The Nazis, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, The Communists, The Second World War, The 60s, The Pill, Playboy, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the Internet.

A few atheist loudmouths here and there aren't going to matter any.

Christianity's downfall will be due to the lack of forward progress.

There haven't been really groundbreaking Christian thinkers since Calvin and Martin Luther and their likes.

Everyone else is just rehashing what they said, interperting it so it can be accepted in today's society and generaly avoiding the logical implications of reading the Bible. (I.E. you just can't take the whole thing seriously. It has to be spin doctored.)

Atheism will have negligable impact on this.

if atheism and agnosticism had a more positive image then it would make the christians who try to make it look bad out to look as a bunch of judgemental people that they tend to be

A positive Atheist image would help Atheism as far as I know.
As for Christianity
GOD is, GOD was, And GOD will forever be. Long after all the Atheism and whatever else we dream up he will still be on the throne, and on his right hand will sit the Lamb who died so you can laugh and giggle and ridicule us all you please.. It is your GOD given rite to do so.

Christians usually paint atheist in such a damnable light, that any truth in our good nature and honest record will prove all of their propaganda wrong. They need to convince people that only through religion can you find morality and honesty, and the facts and statistics always prove otherwise. A positive image of atheism will undermine much of the hate that they have spread about us and bring to light their true nature.

Jesus promised that He would build His church upon a rock, and the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
Hell has been giving it one hell of a try....but we're still here.
Atheists can't hurt OR help Christianity. Their "image" means less than nothing to Christianity.
I can't imagine what you could possibly be thinking??

Life without our loving father would never be positive. All you have to do to see the effects of society in the denying of God is to look at the six o'clock news.

Hurts. Because it shows that people can be good, upstanding citizens without having to believe in fairy tales.
