Religion & Spirituality - 7 January 2007

Right now, I'm seeing things that I normally don't see. I'm trying to come up in life and progress, I didn't want to leave my job because of the people I like working with. However, all of them are leaving and one of the people I work with now he's starting to leave and he's acting kind of "shady" around me, making it not good to work there anymore. A female who seemed like she liked me at first is now avoiding me since her roommate came back from her vacation. I'm going to school soon was going to hold on to the job, maybe God just wants me to focus on School and forget about all the other things. He's deliberately removing attachments from me. I should only seek him for the good times anyway.

Sometimes I get scared that after we die we are doomed forever in loneliness for infinte amount of time. Can someone reassure me that this doesn't happen. This feeling is very depressing because there is no escape!

I would like to know. I am in the process of educating myself in the ways of the Pagan faith. I feel that it is the path for me. I am pro-gay rights and I would like to know what the rest of the Pagan community thinks. Thank you!

I go to church and people look at me pretty funny, I do wear black and have black nails too, but it is only when I am curtious to them that they realize that I am not an evil person. People are actually surprised when I bring up going to church. Is image really all that important? I thought that its whats on the inside that matters...when is society going to get over stereotypes? Should I resent the fact that I dont look like I believe in God- or just be comfortable with who I am and not care about how people look at me, just ignore it completely. I am not going to change my faith or my image- I am just looking for some insight on this issue.

Someone explained that the following scripture is saying, we are not obligated to forgive someone who refuses to repent:

Luke 17:3-4 says: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

However, the Book of Ephesians tells us we are to forgive just as Christ forgave us. Christ died for many people who have yet to repent.....

Ephesians 4:31-32 says: Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

What are your thoughts on this?

As we know, Jesus was sinless from beginning to end, yet He was baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. What's the meaning to this? A sinless person cannot have His sins washed away being baptized if He is & has been sinless and cannot sin!

If we all lived our lives in a 'good' way,....helping others....promoting peace....loving our neighbours....looking after the poor, sick or needy....instead of worrying about 'the after life' (which may or may not exist), and the ultimate judgement when (or if) it comes.....then the fact we had lived our lives in a 'good way', would fulfil all the obligations that many religions promote, without taking our eye off the ball and doing the right thing 24/7 instead of worshiping a possible God!?...Surly if he exists he would rather we spent our lives physically endeavouring to continue his work rather than kneeling before him.....something he would certainly consider a total waste of time!

is Wicca satanic? My friends mom is a Christian lady but she thinks she knows everything, she is like Wicca is nothing but good...it's all about helping people, blah blah. I thought about families, for example, who perished in the Holocaust; where the parents lived righteous lives, loved the Lord, taught their children likewise, and are now suffering the eternal torment of Hell; because their religion has a God who is not Jesus. If anybody doesn't believe in Jesus, Jesus is not amused.

Who came up with this idea, and how do you like it?
