They can only convert adults who are really, REALLY down on hard times. Children make captive audiences. Secure adults would walk away.

Well, so far you have received lots of answers from atheists, who never go to church, so they really don't know what the children are taught. What are you teaching your children and spending your money on, so that they may learn your ways. Children have been instructed in the ways and customs of their elders since time began. This is not a new phenomenon. What is fairly new is the attitude of your generation that wants to deny parents the right to raise their children according to their faith. The kids in our churches seem like quite well adjusted and charming kids.

"Raise up a child in the way he should go and when he gets older he will not depart from it."
It is Scripture to teach children very young about Jesus Christ. I truly believe that no stronger prayer goes up to God than the prayer of a little child. Jesus said, "suffer the little children to come unto Me, because of such is the Kingdom of Heaven."
Why do you think the devil wants prayer out of our public schools? One old god denying Austin, TX atheist got prayer thrown out of school. Satan knows God will answer the prayer of the innocent quickly. Why do you think the devil wants abortion?
Kill off the prayers of our children.
I wish you were correct in saying billions of dollars is spent on teaching our children in the church about Jesus Christ. The truth is our churches have very few children in them. And only a few churches spend excessive amounts of money for children.
Neither the churches, nor the parents, nor the schools are teaching our children about Jesus Christ. We have been losing our children to the devil's world and the churches are just now waking up to this fact.

Because religion is an accident of birth and culture. You usually are what you are born into unless you convert. Most people follow what they have known all their life and want to perpetuate their beliefs, particularly hard right wing Christian conservatives. If you indoctrinate a child before he is 7 it is unlikely he will question his religion. So on with wars and intolerance.

Hate mongers are hate mongers, whether they're KKK, evangelicals, skin heads or avowed atheists. Here, we have yet another atheist hatemonger, how imaginative. Yep, that's just what the world needs, more of you to incite hatred against everyone who doesn't believe (nor not believe) exactly like you.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God. If the children aren't taught, how would they know where to put their faith.
