That isn't fair.

I'm an atheist myself, but I disagree so much with some of my fellow atheists who say that agnostics are just atheists with out any balls.

It's perfectly reasonable, in my opinion, to just say that you don't know.

Maybe you are just mad because they don't completely agree with you.

I have said though, that an atheist just means that you aren't a theist and I would say that an agnostic falls under that catigory. I just don't get hung up on words.

Sometimes it's just a step towards atheism (sometimes not). I used to be agnostic.

I wouldn't put it this rudely, but I think your basic idea is right. Agnosticism doesn't make any sense - I think that agnostics are just too hung up on the idea that we have to be certain of something before we say that we know it. That's a particularly non-scientific stance - in fact it suggests that avowed agnostics really suffer from the same misconception that many believers have.

I'm an atheist. Of course I don't think that I can prove that there's no god - why would I expect to do that? But that doesn't mean I won't say that I know there's no god, just as my inability to prove that there's no lime-green flying elephants doesn't keep me from saying that I know there's no lime-green flying elephants.

ya know? Fundy Atheists are just as irrational as Fundy Christians. if i was an Atheist i'd say so but i'm not. I'm an Agnostic. i know i don't know.

unlike Atheists and religious people i am not so egotistical as to believe i know how to define or conceptualize "God" or know all there is to know about the infinite possible manifestations of energy.

as for being an unscientific stance ... people too sure of the eventual outcome of an experiment make crappy scientists. their bias would cause bias reporting of their findings, perhaps even gear their experiment to the outcome they desire..

Being American, i think I do experience the might desire to label myself. the challenge is i don't incredibly comprehend what label that would desire to be. i think i might desire to be an Atheist as i don't have confidence in "God" and the bible. I see that as only a fairytale with existence instructions, very like Grimm's' fairy-thoughts in case you will. yet I do have confidence specifically, nicely fairly some, Pagan ideals. and that i'm very medical in my thinking as nicely. i think of issues may well be greater beneficial without the labels yet everybody desires to categorize everybody so perhaps there might desire to be an "undetermined" area for human beings like me.

I am an agnostic precisely because I DON'T know that there is no god, the whole point is to make decisions based on factual evidence and not on faith and there is NO evidence that god does not exist.

No.... fence sitters are sometimes really and truly undecided or suspending judgment.

What you've said is like saying all bisexual people are just closet homosexuals. Not so. Bisexuality is a legitimate, recognized orientation. It's not "chicken gayness". Agnosticism isn't "chicken atheism".

Agnostics believe it is impossible to prove wether or not God exists.

Atheists believe God doesn't exist and often feel they can prove it.

I think many people make a natural transition from agnostic to atheist. Be patient.

just can't rule out the possibility of what cannot be proved

what can be proved however disproves an existence of a one triune god

it's easier to blame a Man God because a Woman god wouldn't have messed it up this badly
