Oh please. Nothing is going to happen after you die. The only "happenings" are happening right now. When you die...there is NOTHING.

I've had social anxiety and intense generalized anxiety for all 22 years of my life, so I know what you're feeling right now. Talking to your friends might not be the best way to go, because people without anxiety would have no idea what you're talking about even if they think they do. Also, it kind of makes your relationships with your friends slightly weird if you talk about your problems too much. I found that out the hard way and lost some good friends, which sucked. I've felt so awful and anxious for most of my life, including now. I get these paranoid ideations, and I worry and think, and get absolutely nowhere. I worry and I don't even realize I'm worrying. I get lost in my thoughts and can't think straight or talk to people or socialize or anything. It sucks. I feel impending doom when I'm awake, almost every day, and in my dreams too. I feel like I'm going insane. So yeah, I've felt the same as you. You should go see a doctor. Be careful though. Lots of anti-anxiety and anti-depression drugs don't work, and can actually make things worse. One drug you might want to try is Klonopin. It relaxes you, doesn't have many side-effects, and doesn't make you high or knock you out like Xanax or Valium, so you can still function normally and drive a car and whatnot. But whatever you do, don't block out your pain. If you do that, then you'll end up where I am and start getting symptoms of depersonalization and dissociation, which I'm stuck in and can't get out of. If you get feelings of doom, then don't block it out. Just live with it even though it is completely debilitating, and once you see a psychiatrist, then you'll be able to get some medicine that helps. And if the medicine doesn't work, then stop taking it. Psychiatry is kind of a hit-or-miss kind of thing with all the serotonin drugs, so don't waste your time taking a drug that doesn't work. I'd recommend Klonopin. It isn't an SSRI/serotonin drug, and it has been really helpful to me.

The assurance comes in believing/trusting God's promise to remove your sentence of death because of all you sins in Jesus Christ. He took the punishment.....which is just what you described: "after we die we are doomed forever in loneliness for infinte amount of time"
That is what hell is!
Jesus gift of saving you from this is FREE.
Time for you to find how you can have it and have a wonderful life with God's loving protection even besides the eternal life with Him.

CREATED SOULS OR BORN SOULS OR RESURRECTED SOULS TO SALVATION
Adam and Eve were created souls, the life of the soul is the spirit of God, it belongs to God, it can not be destroyed or contaminated, to be in sin is to be separated from the perfection needed to have his spirit forever. Adam died age 930 and 70 years before his first perfect day, Adam and Eve became imperfect. Adam died in the day he sinned in.
All souls after Adam and Eve are born into imperfection Gen.6:3; in days of Moses, Num 16:22; they knew the life of their soul was the spirit of God, Psm.90:10; Moses fore told that old age would be 70 years, how true is this when Moses died 897 years after the flood, king David dies at age 70 as old age 1Ki.2:10,11; 1373 years after the flood, Acts 2:27-31; Christ and David, Now in 2006 C.E. and 4416 after the flood, it is the same for us.
The promised salvation for the souls born after Adam is a resurrection from the dead.
1Cor.15:22; AS IN ADAM ALL DIE EVEN SO IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE.
2Cor.5:10; Heb.9:27; Acts 17:31; 24:15; John 5:22.26-29; Isa.26:19; Dan.12:2; Rom.14:9-12; Philip.2:5,9-12; Matt.12:36; John 12:47.48; Rev.20:1-6,12,13; The heavenly first resurrected are with God at his coming, Rev.3:12; the new heavens as the kingdom of the heavens comes down out of heaven from God, to resurrect the earthly for the new earth.

You have to come to terms with the fact ..
We live there for we die.
Its the cycle of life.
Seasons come and go so do we.
As I believe in reincarnation.
I have always believed there is something after we die, even when I experienced my own sort of Judgment, (i was very ill in hospital), where a being ( i don't know what it was), asked if i was ready to go or if i wanted to stay to learn more.
Some can put this down to imagination or dreaming or drugs from the hospital.
But i know in myself what it was.
I choose to stay and learn more of course.
So i do believe there is something more to death.
And I would look upon it as a great adventure. rather than something of doom.
Blessings ALD

There is an escape in Jesus Christ. Why be so scared when you don't have to be. I have been a Christian now for over 50 yrs, and I can tell you that the Lord is good. He is kind and loving and waiting for you to call His Name. When you become a Christian and ask Jesus to forgive all your sins and to help you live pleasing to Him. He will heard you and you will never end up in that lonely spot that you fear. Jesus has never let me down and He will never let you down either. To understand about Jesus go to www.ttb.org God Bless and do not fear when the Lord is with you.

God has set a time like this that will never fail in other for all to be saved. If only one is extra-careful.Angels have been informing us that no one can denied he or she never heard to the extent that President Bush of America ran to Nigeria here as people around the whole world and Space heard me warning from Nigeria here and angels warning that "God that baskets the whole universe has sent somebody"for people's reluctance the angel sent later lamented that "absolutely sorry and you are well informed" so that everybody will be able to escape Hell.My name was mentioned in the Spiritual Realm as Bode in Nigeria. As President Bush was discussing with President Obasanjo I was watching them through the Television,no one can deny all these allegations levelled against the world is only by being submissive to His will can one enjoy eternity with Him.God promised He has given us everything for good use.The people of the underworld came to arrest my spirit sometimes and they went and buried him,the third day God sent four people they surrounded where my Spirit was buried with an angel of God knelt down at my forehead my spiritual body was raised from the dust and the people that came to have my spiritual body buried has been apprehended and I was told these are my persicutors that I was set free and since that time I've been freed indeed. To sheld some lights all the prophets that were sent in the past God has just judged them of recent by showing me to them these of mine is all they asked them to do when the got to the world but they did another things and the started crying "Oh! I have made a mistake" as they were calling them one after the other and they were all sentenced to the final judgement of God which is Hell.As all these things going on we were hearing on earth here and people in space were not leftout.Obedience to the will of God will liberate us worldwide. It was satan that has caused a lot of confusions in the world after being demoted as an arch-angel of formal since that time he has been blocking everybody from enjoying eternity with God.This is time of salvation to the whole world.Peace be unto the whole world.

My answer, unique among those replies here, is that when we die, our spirits will go to a spirit world to await our resurrection, our judgment by Christ, and then our eternal rewards.
We do not immediately go to heaven or hell upon death. The spirit world will be an abode suitable to the spirit's life on earth. In other words, righteous people will go to a spirit place called Paradise while the wicked will go to a spirit prison.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

Here is what Jesus said about St. John:
21:23. This saying therefore went abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die. And Jesus did not say to him: He should not die; but:
"So I will have him to remain till I come, what is it to thee?"
This is a puzzle in what Jesus said, because John did not and could not remain until the end of time. So Jesus must have meant that he would come for him at a certain time.
Your escape is under the wings of the Lord. Go to the Bible link below and read from the Book of John.
But I do caution you that the Book of Wisdom says that only the depraved believe that we cease to exist. Because all of human life is tied together inextricably and can only be severed at the end. This is why Jesus says I am the vine and you are the branches, if you remain in Me you will have eternal life. But those that do not will wither and be cast into the fire. This is decay and destruction of the soul which is eternal fire.
So why live without your lifeline? Especially the one who loves you more deeply than any brother. It is not too late to say:Jesus, Lord, teach me to follow you and live in your ways.
1:45. Philip found Nathanael and said to him: We have found him of whom Moses, in the law and the prophets did write, Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth.
1:46. And Nathanael said to him: Can any thing of good come from Nazareth? Philip saith to him: Come and see.
1:47. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him and he saith of him: Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile.
1:48. Nathanael said to him: Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said to him: Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
1:49. Nathanael answered him and said: Rabbi: Thou art the Son of God. Thou art the King of Israel.
1:50. Jesus answered and said to him: Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, thou believest: greater things than these shalt thou see.
1:51. And he said to him: Amen, amen, I say to you, you shall see the heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
