God Does not expect us to be Holy like his son.God expects us to sin. God created the ten comandments so that when we mere mortals do sin we will feel guilt(wich is the holy spirite talking to us) & we will call apon His greatness to forgive us.I used to be afraid of God untill I heard this factoid. Now I understand.

those are outdated laws and jesus gave us a new law thats simply love. jesus says that he came to give us life and give it more abundantly. i believe that jesus abolished the laws of the o/t.

i cant understand why some christians still believe in the o/t, when jesus says that we should follow him in order to find life?

I've heard of the "God Spot" or "God Module," a region of the brain related to religious experiences, but I've also heard that this study was unreliable. Does anyone have information on this subject? If it is real, what does it mean to you?

well, im curious because my mom said there was this indian man who was her teacher that looked up directly at the sun every morning for some time without blinking. this was in trinidad. and he was racist. he only liked the indian students and he was not a very nice man. he was evil. is there a religion or something that does that or do u know what that is?

I think it would be fun and would definitely change the world, but which one? A book writer, nah too much english skill, a spokesperson, no you would be called the anti-christ, an atheist missionary? I don't know, but anything that involves converting people would be good. Maybe I should go to random people and try to sell stuff I don't know.

I want to know, that without proof of anything, how YOU know God exists, if this happened or that happened, how do you know it happened? If the Bible was written by multiple people with multiple stories, how do you know it was written by many, you only know what you have been told, you have no proof. There is no proof of anything today, not even the Bibles prophecies, even Nostradamus got some of his prophecies right, but I surely wouldn't call him God, so all humans of today, tell me where your proof is, no one here has seen the REAL pages of the Bible, only pictures, no one has seen Mary, or Jesus or lived any of the stories, tell me how you are so sure of any of this being true. Faith is one thing, but knowing is another, don't give me quotes from the Bible, give me proof.

Sometimes I get the sensation this life is just like a dream, I have sensations that there is a better life waiting. Could this be a sign of depression or does anybody else have these sensations.

Last Sunday my sister was curious to find out what church was like and so she woke up early sunday morning and i heard commotion from the room next to mine (we're both 19 and live on our own but we cant afford our own apartments) and i woke up and told her where the f#ck do you think your going are you forgetting that we're atheist and she was like what i'm just curious to see how it is and then i told her get back here and she tells me no and goes into the kitchen and starts to make coffee as if shes going to church and i follow her into the kitchen and shut off the coffee machine and i tell her Stacy get back in that room your not going anywhere and i went and stood in front of the door so she couldnt get out and then she tells me why are you so controlling and i tell her i just want the best for you christianity is all lies we both know theres no god so get back in that room or i will destroy you. Do you think thats wrong i just want the best for Stacy and she just doesnt appreciate

What if the Bible was written by a group, only to put fear and control into others to keep everyone in line? Kind of like UFO's and all that jazz the government denies, imagine that if the government only stuck to this story that they may know the truth to, only because they fear the riot that would take place if there was proof God didn't exist.

when i dont find any reference in the bible to support this claim. it only says that she was a very beautiful woman who found inspiration in the teaching of jesus and became one of his followers. she was the first person to even speak to jesus when he rose from the dead. mary i believe was a great christian.
why do some christians brand this woman of great honor as a woman of ill repute when there is no evidence to support it in the bible?

Destroying friendships

Because of homosexuality or fear of being seen as a homosexual, it seems that same sex people cant be close friends like they use to. If I go up a guy friend and tell him I love him it is taboo in society. If two girls walk down the street holding hands its assumed that they must be gay or something, though girls used to do this all the time.

Destroying the diversity of types.

It seems like its impossible for a young boy to be polite, kind, a good student, dress neatly, and be respectful of women unless he is pushed into thinking he is gay. And likewise it seems everything a girl shows a little bit of toughness and leadership she is pushed by society into believing she must be gay. So we are being left with nothing but men who think acting like a neanderthal defines straightness and women who think the only way to be a real girl is to be a girly girly pink wearing princess.

I meditate a few nights a week before I go to bed.
I have some very soothing songs on my iPod and I relax my entire body. I close my eyes and reflect on the day and where my life is going.
Usually what happens is that my arms and legs grow very numb and stiff. It actually is quite comfortable. Is this common in mediation?
Are there stages of mediation? (something happens and then this happens and then this happens and so on.)
I am looking to dig deeper into this powerful spirituality technique.
