How far would you take that? To the extreme limit--I mean exactly how strong is that faith?

I've seen people testify that God healed them of a cold or headache and even refuse to take their meds, but I know they carry health insurance?

LOL
I'm not asking for testimonials. I'm asking true believers in faith healing to what extent they would go to prove their faith.

I strongly believe in faith healing. Isaiah 53:5 says that we are healed by the "stripes" (wounds from flogging) of Christ.

However, God uses both supernatural means and doctor's hands to achieve healing.

God reveals Himself supernaturally at the time and place of His choosing. It is not ours to decide when or where healing takes place. Sometimes the healing of God can come as simply as a liver being made available for someone at the right time and place. If the donor was a believer, they go to Paradise with a new body...one that can't get ill.

The other side of this is: If you are living a Christian lifestyle, you are far less likely to get sick, because you aren't doing things that make alot of people sick (smoking, drinking, unprotected casual sex, etc).

Hope this helps you to understand a little better.

Why was Paul never delivered from the thorn in his side? Why did he encourage Timothy to take a little wine for his stomach instead of merely "laying hands" on him and "healing" him? This health and wealth gospel is a perversion of true faith and should never be confused with Christianity.

Hi Funnycakes. All healing comes from God, but the healing God speaks of in the Bible is a spiritual healing of our sins. In Matthew 9:12-13 God tells us:

"... “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

God did give us physicians so it is not sinful to see a doctor when we are not physically well. In Isaiah 38:21 Isaiah instructs Hezekiah to make a poultice of figs to heal a boil:

"Now Isaiah had said, “Let them take a lump of figs, and apply it as a poultice on the boil, and he shall recover.”

In 1 Timothy 5:21 God tells us:

"No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for your stomach’s sake and your frequent infirmities."

I'm starting a ministry to faith heal to pets and when someone sends a love donation, I send them a tape of hymns that only dogs can hear or a genuine imitation of the Shroud of Lassie.

If I have no choice i go to faith healing no matter what my mind dictates that I would be despaired. But everytime I do healing, it cured. Facts is that as Stephen king admitted in a book, although he's an atheist? prayer creates protein in the brain so that dead cells keep rejuvenated.

God healed me before. Seriously, the power is within you. You are part of God's being, in that we are the creation of God. I had a nasty infection that the antibiotics weren't licking, but the tests all came back trace, but I felt weak and like crap. I prayed and meditated so hard that I would see flowers inside of flowers inside of flowers glowing on my wall. Recovery came slowly, but completely WITHOUT the use of any medicine. I just had faith I would be healed. I'm a believer. Anyone can do this if they will it so.

In the Bible, New Testament, book of James:5:14-20, this will tell you what you need to know. I will add this if we all had the faith that we should then we would have callouses on our knees several inches deep and every moment that we had we would be on our knees in pray. That is how you get the faith and prayers get answered.

Every religion has faith healers to some extent, even Buddhists. It is not a sign of any significance.

I crossed my eyes once and then uncrossed them as I was magically "healed" Sure it was not real, but we got some stupid people to believe it.

If it's good enough for a scholar like "wilma m" maybe I should look into it!
