Can people actually convert to Orthodoxy? Are most Orthodox, like most Catholics, more liberal than most evangelicals and Protestants? Are most Orthodox pretty devout?

I have seen angels and ghosts for many years but psychiatrists see it one way and religious individuals the exact opposite.

So what is the difference between a true hallucination and a spiritual experience (e.g. seeing an angel, having an NDE/OBE, seeing/hearing a ghost, pre-birth communication, after death communication, etc)?

Would psychiatrists attempt to rule out genuine spiritual experiences before classifying them as hallucinations, and vice versa? Or would they automatically assume the patient is experiencing a hallucination without delving further into the matter at hand?

I think this war as gone on for long enough, we just need a happiness enema, the whole world does. We at least need to stop fighting for one day, everyone in the world does. I'm trutlhly sick of this war and religion, so bring it on, sure insult my "cover" and don't forget about how I probably have no emotions since I say I'm sick of religion, but if you have not sinned nor been to chruch to beg God for his forgiveness then you shall cast the first stone, good luck with that.

Don't get me wrong: i'm a strong Christian who could do better. but at this conference called Dare2Share, Greg Stier got me thinking. what would u say? i would say "even if i'm wrong, i've had a better life for believing. i've met new and wonderful friends, and i've had a character i'm proud of." i mean, its a question i've asked my non-Christian friends, and i feel its only fair that i have a good answer too.

I have no problem believing the ozone layer is being damaged and as a consequense the temperature may rise and ice will melt. But to say that ice melting will lead to earth being covered over seems like bad science to me. If you put half a glass of water in the freezer the next day you will have closer to a full glass of ice. If it melts and most of the icebergs are underwater, would that not result in lower sea levels? What am I missing here?

Why does he think we aren't going to apply them to the Bible & himself? If he was real, shouldn't he of made the Bible & himself more believable?

They try to poke holes in any religion, Catholicism in particular.Yes, we know there is no "proof" that God or Jesus exists, but is there any proof He doesn't? I try to be open to other peoples opinions, I know most people think Christians are close-minded. But, although Catholics may be narrow-minded, we don't try to disprove any other religions at every possible turn do we? Or am I being hypocritical right now? Are we as critical as atheists?

Maybe it's because they are in my homestate of Colorado, but I love them. They have been tireless advocates for traditional virtues in Colorado and America (with a great deal of success) for years. I suppose where you come down on Dobson & co. depends on where you come down on traditional morality. But what say you? Is their influence to strong on America and Colorado?

Do Christians even believe in global warming? If so, are they worried about it? I mean, don't you believe that Jesus is going to come back before global warming kills us all? In that case, do you believe that Jesus is coming back soon? Does the bible reference global warming at all? If so, where, and what does it say/mean?

Someone just asked a legitamate question about a belief system that was not of the mainstream.

The immediate reaction from some was to insinuate that this person is on drugs.

Can someone please epxlain how this is assumption makes sense?

I do not assume that illogical mystics who have beliefs in popular religions are on drugs, why would I assume an illogical mystic of an less than popular religion is on drugs?

At least what she wanted was something admirable, which is more than I can say for a lot of believers, who just want a God so they can tell themselves God will punish people they don't like.

What would it take to help you understand Christians can be at different stages in their walk with Christ & everything that stands for Christianity? When I 1st became a Christian, I had no knowledge about Christianity, as it doesn't magically appear. It was 7 months before I started growing as a Christian, thus, few changes took place in my life. I still laughed at dirty jokes & still believed in what Christians don't, abortions, homosexuality, etc. Asking me if I was a Christian, I would say yes, as I was, but what we call a baby Christian. Since my situation didn't include other Christians in my life, I was walking along the side of the road rather than on the road to Christ. You would be calling me a hypocrite behind my back after hearing me cuss someone out. My life changed when I allowed myself to have a personal relationship with Jesus, yet it was still a process. Wouldn't it be better to judge us with the what we believe in & not how we act since we are all on different levels?
