He absolutely does expect Christians to apply logic in the context of the Logos - the Word of God. Logic is always contextual. Christians interpret things in the context of the Revelation of God contained in the Scriptures and especially in the light of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. A great Bible teacher of this century named Derek Prince was a professor of philosophy at Eton College, being a graduate of Cambridge. His specialty was logic. He had been thoroughly schooled in ancient and modern philosophy - having read all the works of Plato in the original Greek. After his conversion to Christ and after years of studying the Bible, his comment was that he felt the Bible was the most logical book he had ever read.

If he wanted a purely intellectual knowledge of Himself being the only criteria yes. That is not what He was after. He wants people with a heart attitude that digs a little deeper for the truth and that's what He will get.

God gave us the capability to think for ourselves. He has to allow us to make our own choice; otherwise we'd be God-made robots.
God wrote the Bible through men who were inspired by Him. and as to the last question, God can't water the truth of His being down. His is almighty, all-knowing, everything. if He was less, He wouldnt be God.

In the eyes of most Christians, God hates smart people. At almost every turn he tries to trick them into believing that he isn'r real. The dumber you are, the more likely you are to go to heaven.

What of Him do you not believe. Do you not get that because He IS the creator that He is not bound by His creation as no parent is subject to their offspring. Yet he interacts with us all the time and aids and guides us by the Holy Spirit and His Word. It is by logic and reason that I do know and comprehend Him. It is by the study of His word, and its' teaching with respect to rest of His creation which guides my relationship with that/whom He has created. Let me invite you to check out one of my websites on apologetics which uniquely defines G-d, with a set of apologetics which He gave me. See if I haven't used logic and reasoning in arriving at certain conclusions.

Methinks what does make god more believable is that there is no Idol that portrays him. Would it make sense to believe in a Golden Idol of something because you can see it?
