The world that God created will never end. Read Ecclesiastes 1:4. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 tells us what will happen, what to look out for during the time of the end. As to the date no one knows not even the Son only God knows. And you can read that at Matthew 24:36.

This is like asking us when you are going to die, and the simple answer is we, at least I, do not know. What I do know is that if you are truly concerned about the world ending, and I am assuming you are talking about devastation of all life forms as we know them........you need to make your peace with your maker. Be it God, Allah, or whatever spiritual path you follow. As man lives, he will surely die, this is natures law. Man is not immortal, and is destined to die at some time, be it natural causes, or the biblical end of time. You cannot fret about the end of your life, but focus on the here and now, the positive aspects of your life, and live your life. "The measure of our lives is not by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breaths away." Live your life with purpose, love much, and remember that death is not the end, but merely the beginning. Besides, who says the end of the world hasn't begun? For some profound reading, if you think I'm wrong, just read Revelations. In a nutshell, be ready spiritually.

There is a gospel song that goes like this "soon and very soon". We can know, according to scripture, when it is NEAR, even at the door. Yeshua gave us, as indicated by one answerer, some guidelines of what would precede His return (Olivet discourse). He (G-d) told me about a dozen years ago that "The End of ALL Things is At Hand". In recent weeks I have had a sense that 1)We have turned a corner; 2)We are heading down the home stretch; 3)The church needs to assume the attitude of lying prostrate before the soon coming King. There are those of whom I'm familiar with, who have indicated that Judgment is about to fall.

The earth itself will not end for a terribly long time... However mankind may come to an end in this century.

The atmospheric-oceanic carbon cycle removes atmospheric carbon monoxide by depositing it in oceanic carbon sinks. The carbon sinks are expected to become saturated in 50 to 60 years and then the atmospheric-oceanic carbon cycle will fail and carbon monoxide will rapidly build up in our atmosphere, turning our atmosphere lethal.

We might survive this calamity in small numbers in sheltered cities however a war will break out in which some of those who are doomed will blame the USA and allies for causing this problem; they will initiate a global nuclear / biological / chemical / kinetic war which will kill nearly everyone still living and make it impossible for anyone remaining to survive much longer.

We can prevent our extinction by shifting our energy production to solar power satellites but we need to begin this program right away. If we fail to successfully deploy thousands of solar power satellites between 2020 and 2050 or so it will be too late to save ourselves from extinction without waging a biological war to reduce our global population to a level that can be sustained with hydrocarbon fueled energy infrastructures without overwhelming our planet's capacity to maintain our atmosphere.

2 Peter 3:7-14

7But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

God promised, after the flooding, that He would never totally destroy the world again. The world society will be stopped when God returns....(Revelation/Ezekiel) and things will be cleansed, but then things will be set right.
