Maybe it's because they are in my homestate of Colorado, but I love them. They have been tireless advocates for traditional virtues in Colorado and America (with a great deal of success) for years. I suppose where you come down on Dobson & co. depends on where you come down on traditional morality. But what say you? Is their influence to strong on America and Colorado?

Dr D. is no doubt a saint who has labored intensely in the vineyard of the L-rd. He has done so much for so many through the years, and given the nature of things in the world we need all the salt and light that we can get. That's the long and short of it.

I don't know about their influence specifically in Colorado...but I grew up with Focus on the Family in Virginia and I have to agree that they are great advocates of morality and promote appropriate virtues in America.

I like Focus on the Family, but I think their orginization is incredibly judgemental, and a bit onesided.

I think DR James Dobson is a smart man, and he is a good motivational speaker, and writer.
He gives good advice, and I wish I had heard of him earlier on in my life.

Frankly, I think Dobson and Focus uses scare tactics to raise financial support. My mother recieved something weekly from them claiming congress will do this or that unless we raise support to fight the cause. It seems alarmist and political more than Biblical, to me.

Any teaching that is based on the Word of God is correct teaching.
