Harry Potter seems just like a fictional movie- with little wizards and cute little chants and such. But I heard that there are actually many hidden messages within it. That some of the little chants are actually derived from witchcraft and such. I would like serious answers in regards to what you know about the true meaning behind Harry Potter.

I suggest because they like Christians on the defencive, not the offensive. Read on.

In Ephesians 5, Paul calls us to put on the whole armour of G-d.

Here are the pieces of the armour

Righteousness as our breastplate
Truth is the belt around our waist
Faith as a sheild
Salvation as a helmet

Notice how all these things are defensive items??

The only offense is "the Word of G-d as your sword"

Does this explain why non believers HATE Bible quotes?

Why or why not? I have very strong convictions and feelings about things of which the scriptures speak. Yet I do not think politics is our answer, never did, though it is a temptation to think it is very crucial. Judging by my own feelings, I would guess that most Christians care about society and feel like it is going down, they are losing their place in it(displaced), and yet we know that Christian morality cannot be legislated by outward law, it is the inner law, implanted in us by the Spirit of God, changing our old hearts(nature), by being born again. (Scripture reference Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Ezekiel 36:24-29, and 2 Corinthians 3:1-3, and John 3:3-8 )
Are Christians in politics just trying to save an image of America that is not true anymore so that they feel comfortable and never have to come to terms with their great failure to win hearts and minds for the our Jesus?

Do I have this right? There is only one God, but that God is three persons: Father, Jesus (Son) and Holy Spirit. In other words 1+1+1=1.

To my mind this is illogical, but I am told it is a mystery and I am not supposed to understand, I am only supposed to believe and have faith. If I sincerely ask Jesus into my heart, the illogical nature will no longer be a concern to me, I will attain salvation on the basis of Jesus' sacrifice.

If I do not, then God, who is a loving Father, will see to it that I am tortured for all eternity.

Is this all accurate?

The human body has no use for an appendix these days. Other herbivious have an appendix that helps digest cellulose. We no longer eat food that contains cellulose as we now cook our food or eat easily digestable fruits and vegetables.
If God made the human body, why would he include a useless organ? I thought God is omnipotent and infallible? Did he make a mistake? Or is it just easier to believe that the Appendix is an organ left over from our ancestors who ate leaves etc.?

In John 19:29-30. Moments before the death of Jesus, we read; Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

What is the message of Salvation, given here?

I just saw an answer form one of our regulars that he had been an atheist but was converted by a fundamentalist church.

Now, one extreme to the other. Why? How could a logical thinking intelligent non believer become a religious fanatic? I could see going from atheism to being an open minded believer, but not a fundie fanatic. How does this happen?

Do people choose atheism because of distrust of organized religion or do some choose such a path because it absolves them of accountability?

This is actually a serious question that I am looking for serious answers to. Every civilization at every era in human history has in one way or another had some spiritual desire to be filled. What makes an Atheist become Atheist?
