I realize this is a difficult question because you can't see the statue I'm referring to.
I would like any help in identifying the god in this statue.
The statue has 5 cobras at the base and the god is holding another cobra by the neck.
I was wondering if this statue is of Krishna, but I have no idea.

If anyone knows of the symbolism of the five cobras at the base and the one in the gods hand, that would be interesting as well.

It seems that the same questions get asked over and over. What questions do you see regularly on the religion and spirituality board that you wish that people would just check the existing questions instead of asking once again?

I am obviously frustrated with people. I love 'em, but DAMN!!! I am trying to get ideas to help with dealing with the other half of the population. The people that lack an ability to think, and study, and dream... you know... the lazy ones.

One of the things I find so annoying about religion is the tendency to criticize, belittle and trash talk people with other beliefs.

Is it a Christian value to devalue people who believe in another god or perhaps not one at all?

I have found Osho Rajneesh very impressive personality, so clear, and speaks his mind. I m very eager to know about him more. I have already having a Guru, as i have no personal or direct contact with Him, I usually read Osho, and impressed by him. Is it like disregard to my own Sadguru.

Than why is there a hell?

Personally, I think that hell is an imaginary place created to control the masses through fear. It does not exist.

If you do believe in Hell, do you really see your Lord as capable of sending anyone who has lived a good life and never hurt anyone to that place? A person who has lived according to what Jesus wanted, love one another, but is a Buddhist, probably the most peaceful philosophy in this world, and yet they are still condemned to hell?
How short sighted that is. That is not the God that I believe in.
If your God would do that, what is your church affiliation? Assembly of God?
