i do not demand respect for my faith and relationship with God, and i respect others beliefs although they are wrong.

i apologize for you having to deal with Christians that have given you this wrong impression.

And if Christians have "[demanded] infinite respect for their own faith", it is because we believe that Christianity is the truth, i am not condoning the hypocritical actions of the Christians you have had encounters with, i am just stating their reasoning.

You know, I've been asking myself the same question, and still have no idea. It just seems that for some reason they've convinced themselves that their way of thinking is the only way, and all others are wrong, no matter what. There are some of other religions (mainly Islam) that are the same way. I, myself, have come to the conclusion it's all religion. Well, at least, it seems to be the monotheistic religions. On thinking about just now, maybe it's the fact that they believe in just one god, so it narrows their view of the world.

That's it. They're just narrow minded.

It also goes against their own religion. They're prideful, and so they commit a deadly sin by showing such disrespect to others.

Whatever it is, it's annoying as hell!

I respect other faiths to the point of making sure there is no "cross contact" with certain foods in the kitchen I work in.
These others refuse to respect Christianity our soldiers are not allowed their Bibles or Torahs in the desert countries they are fighting for, the are NOT allowed their religous services, only "moral" meetings.

I don't demand it either, heck, some Christians don't even recognize my religion and I'm Catholic! but I can understand where your coming from.... the people that do that are afraid of anyone or anything that is not like them, if they don't know it or haven't experienced it, then it is inherently wrong..... I use to get so upset about this!!! And it seems as though you say something critical against their religion they freak out....... but they are the quickest to criticize anyone that doesn't agree w/ them..... but if you think about it these are the people that don't have tolerance for anything, be it race, religion, sexual orientation, politics, etc.....

Christians are being put down daily for believing in "God" but it is Dmanded that we, as a country embrace every other "religion" in the world. I have great respect for other faiths-as long as you don't shove it down my throat. You believe as you want, and let me. United States was founded on "Freedom OF Religion" not "Freedom FROM Religion" As Christians we are supposed to respect others, what does your "god" say about respect?

Because Christianity has a persecution complex. Anytime someone disagrees, they scream "persecution," but because they must also "Go forth and spread the word," they need to squash other beliefs.

Because their bible tells them that they have the "one true way" and that it is their religious duty to shove this "good news" down everyone else's throats whether they like it or not.

And if it is in their bible it must be the truth, because their bible says that their bible is a true book right there in their bible.

Haven't you heard the "truth" yet?
