I would have a horrible time throwing away a Bible, I can't even throw away ministry magazines, such as the monthly magazine from In Touch Ministries with Charles Stanley or the ones from Focus on the Family.

It is just too good of information to be tossed away and needs to be passed on to someone else. I'm always thinking that there is something God wants them to see.

I would give it to a nursing home or a homeless shelter. It doesn't matter there are pages missing, some pages are better than none and God will do the rest.

I need to switch to a new Bible that I bought several months ago, but I hate losing all my notes because I love to read them whenever I happen on that page. I can see spiritual growth or I can add a connection. My Bible isn't missing pages, but it has several torn pages and overall, a big mess.

Enjoy your new one! .

Good question. As Christians we consider the Bible to be holy. I have an aversion to throwing it away, but since pages are missing and you have a new one, I think it is okay. I go through a lot of Bibles, and usually end up storing the old ones or putting them on a shelf.

NO! DO NOT throw away your old bible, though of course, that depends on if it's a distorted version such as the NIV or a Roman Catholic bible, which they've added the 'Apocrypha' - those are examples of false versions of the bible because they have been altered. If your bible is neither one of those, I would say to keep it or repair it the best way you can and give it to someone who needs it, providing it's not one of the two versions I mentioned. The closest and most accurate version of the bible to the original Hebrew text is the King James Version, which is the only version I use. Again, give it to some needy person who could use it. Perhaps your church may know someone who could use it that can't afford one?

No it's not good to throw your Bible away. You should keep it somewhere just for future references. If you would like put the old Bible in your closet or something of that nature. It's always good to hang on to old Bibles, because you would probably need it later in life.

I was always told you never throw away a Bible. Check out www.recyclethebible.com and they have an address were you can send your used bible. They ship bibles around the world. Or I would donate it to your local church.
Hope this helps!

No you don't throw your bible away. I would use it in the future with your kids as a testimony. If you don't want to do this, drive down the street and give it to someone homeless or someone on a street corner. It might be a blessing to someone. But don't throw it away.

No. Since the old one is in such "used" condition, I suspect it is because you have read and reread it so many times that you have it memorized. Right... Replace the missing pages and give it to a friend. Study the new one.

Why not keep it? I have saved a least 2 old Bibles. Sometimes I dig them out and see what notes I made. It is very inspiring to do this!

Recycle it. I go to churches and get free Bibles all the time and take them to be recycled. It's part of my effort to save the world.
