In John 19:29-30. Moments before the death of Jesus, we read; Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

What is the message of Salvation, given here?

This was the 4th and last "cup" of the Jewish Passover celebration, which Jesus eternally fulfilled.

It was finished, and so was the mission that the Passover lamb symbolized.

Tradition also tells us that the last Passover lamb had just been slaughtered at that moment, in the nearby temple.

From that moment forward, baptism, empowered by the blood of the Lamb of God, would be the sign that would serve to defeat the angel of death.

I don't believe that the vinegar and the message of salvation are connected. When Jesus said "it is finished" he meant that his mission had been accomplished. His work on the cross to free us from our sin was completed in full.

Can't decide whether you think there is one but don't know what it is or you think there is one and you want to tell us. Personally, I think the message is historical more than anything right here.
