I just saw an answer form one of our regulars that he had been an atheist but was converted by a fundamentalist church.
Now, one extreme to the other. Why? How could a logical thinking intelligent non believer become a religious fanatic? I could see going from atheism to being an open minded believer, but not a fundie fanatic. How does this happen?

Actually I never said I was converted by a church.
I was converted by the witnessing of actual, physical miracles. Undeniable evidence like G-d said to me "Here I am." I was a very hardcore atheist until that moment.
I put 100% faith in G-d since and eventually CAME to the fundamentalist church because people like being around others with similar interests and beliefs...like why do sports fans hang out at sports bars? lol
Nevertheless, I was not converted by any human efforts.

Fundies and Atheists have one thing in common.
They need proof. The fundie just makes some up for himself.
When you think of it in those terms, then it isn’t to far a stretch.
Besides, some people just sway towards extremism. It’s just part of their personality.

i dont think so, well i think anyone who is vehement about anything is just looking for something to be right about. they dont have to actually believe, i knew someone who would argue about anything, anything at all, no matter what side you were on he would argue the other side. he simply liked to argue, he didnt believe in anything in particular.

THE TRUE ESSENCE THAT WAS ONCE IN THEM IS IN LIMBO,THE LIGHT ,THEIR SPIRIT THAT THEY DENIED AND IN ALL TRUE REALITY ARE NO LONGER ALIVE ,FOR THE LIGHT THAT WAS ONCE IN THEM HAS GONE OUT OF THEM AND THE SPIRIT THAT WAS IN THEIR BODY HAS DIED WITHIN THEIR SOUL.AND IS ON THE WAY TO THE SECOND DEATH IF THEY DON'T GET WITH IT
