fellow christians. I have a question that has been bugging me for awhile. I know jesus died on the cross to pay an atonement of blood for our sins. but how was it a sacrifice if he was sentenced to death. not an act of volunteering? he was crucified by the jews because they said he was being blasphemous, so how was it a sacrifice if it wasnt his choice to die?

I mean, if there is a god, why doesn't he take action on people, why doesn't he help people when they need it? But the devil on the other hand, does take action, he posseses people, so shouldn't we be on his side since we actually know that he does stuff to people here on earth? I mean, I seriously doubt any of us has seen "god" in action...But im pretty sure we've all at least heard of satan taking over people's minds...

This is a quick vote on www.cnn.com
And this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard in my entire life!! It makes me so sick that someone might even suggest anything like that!

May be we should stop celebrating Christmas...
because if we do... we might offend somebody!

If you were a bride left waiting at the altar for that long, wouldn't you get the message that you'd been jilted?

Whenever anyone here posts a question that people perceive to be anti-christian, that Christians quickly get on the defensive and are quick to condemn you. Is that what your God teaches, to be intolerant of the beliefs of others? I wonder how many hate messages I'm going to get this time from so called "Christians?"

I didn't read most of these 4 pages so far, but Islam is responsible for millions of BUDDHIST deaths (in Afghanista, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Thailand more recently etc...) over the millenia, is responsible for millions of CHRISTIAN deaths (during the crusades, in numerous African countries such as Nigeria), is responsible for millions of HINDU deaths (during colonization of India and during India's split with Pakistan and Bangladesh), is responsible for millions of MUSLIM deaths (shiite versus sunni, wahabi verus less extreme, killing of muslim converts to other religions etc...), is responsible for tens of thousands of JEWISH deaths (in Israel, Argentina etc...).....is responsible for tens of thousands of ATHEIST/AGNOSTIC peoples' deaths via indiscriminate terrorism(9/11, 7/7 etc...)...

Only a moron or a muslim would not admit that this is the most violent religion in human history. A bunch of Arabs have spread the religion largely via violence or by attracting societal outcasts

I read this article today saying that the U.S. is testing the machinery and computers that are used to draft people to serve in the armed forced. They (U.S. gov.) say that they are opposed to the draft and that they are not about to reinstate it.....which leaves me wondering: WHY are they testing the system then?
If tomorrow you woke up and found that your country was drafting YOU to go to war, would you go? Would your religion prevent you from serving?

You'd think that a book from a perfect God would also be perfect, without so many errors and confusing statements. You'd think that a perfect God would leave us with a perfect record. If Jesus really did all those things it says he did, why is it that there is no written record about him during the time he was alive? Why were the gospels written so many years later? Why does the bible leave us with more questions than answers? You'd think that a book inspired by a supreme being would be crystal clear.

Goes home to beat his wife and molest his children? Are you aware how often this happens in the real world? Or do you see your holy-man as being a saint-like person who doesn't eat, sh'it, or bleed like the rest of us?

For instance angels appeared in human form to Lot and his family during the time of Sodom, and two angels who appeared as men, and ate with Abraham and his family. If angels can take human form, are demons, fallen angels, also allowed to do this?

Or were certain limitations put on demons after they inhabited the bodies of men to have sex with human women, which produced the Nephilim(who were destroyed after the flood)?

The only regions where religious people go to war seem to have exceedingly high illiteracy rates and no technological form of mass media i.e. no computers. The Dark Ages, the Middle East...places where there is nothing to do but worship God.

Adam and Eve had 2 sons that we know of, Cain and Abel. Correct? 1 killed the other. After he killed his brother, Cain was doomed to wander the earth with the mark of evil upon his face. Correct? The Bible does not mention any other children borne to Adam and Eve. Once again, am I correct? Therefore, how did the human race survive if the only woman in the world had no other babies? I really want to know if I got any of this stuff wrong, and I want to hear an explanation from you religious types out there.
