Danielle, why would the unsaved pray to God for anything? (that tells you what I think about the prayer of repentance -- faith is given first in order to say those words and mean them).

Yes, I believe God hears your prayer.

The only prayer God will listen to from a person that is not saved is the sinner's prayer asking for forgiveness, and asking for Jesus to be the Lord and Saviour of your life.He will not answer prayer for a person that chooses a sinful way of life and only calls on Him when things get hard, using Him as a crutch. He wants worshippers that will make Him first in their lives. He will not accept second place in your heart to anything else.

The only unsaved sinners prayers that God hears are the ones who are truly seeking him with all of their heart. He answers their prayers that will draw them to Him.

The only prayer of the unsaved God promises to hear, (not that He won't hear and answer other prayers from the unsaved because He is gracious and merciful), is the prayer of a repentant sinner to have mercy upon his soul. For God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come unto repentance. (The Holy Spirit must be drawing that person to God, of course).

God hears prayer of those that have faith. Can the unsaved have faith for the moment they ask their petition or are they so far from God in their life?

God hears everyone's prayers, "saved" or not. Hearing, however, is not to be confused with "giving you what you ask for." God (according to my beliefs - so go ahead with your snarky replies, O ye of little faith who may respond to this ;) answers us based on His love for us, not based on us pushing the right buttons. So yes, He does indeed hear your prayers. He may not be giving you what you want, but that is not because He's not listening.

if God couldn't (or won't) hear prayers from the unsaved, then how would anyone ever get saved?

God is everywhere. He can hear everybody who is praying or not even praying. God answers prayers based on His promises in the Bible.

God hears prayer that is according to His will

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (1 John 5:14).

God hears every prayer, He might even grant an unbelievers prayer, and I have heard of this happening , especially in places without so much bounty as the US.
